Hi All,
I am aware that this may be the wrong forum I am posting in, but the scenario is kind of murky and cannot be placed in Settlement Issues either. So,

I received PPR request today and will plan to send documents on Monday. The question is about landing and receiving PR card thereafter.
I have a India trip planned on Dec 1; while returning I will need either PR card or Travel Document.
Now, I am planning to do landing at CIC office which has a wait time of 3 weeks. So, if I do decide to do landing it will be earliest by 25-31 Aug. So, I would have approx 91 days till my trip. As of now, CIC states that their processing time for New PR card is 87 days which is very close.

If it does not come in that time frame, I will have to apply for Travel Document in India. I have little faith that it will be done in just 3 weeks, plus not to mention additional work during trip.

Now, I can do landing after coming back from India, which seems like safe option. but I would like to get the landing formalities out of way if possible.

Any advice on how do i take a decision?

Thanks,

2-3 weeks for what? You just need to cross the border and you will be issued your permanent residence immediately. The card...yes you cannot leave the country (unless you have a valid travel document) till you get your PR card

Yes, that is also an option. But even if I do that, I am not sure I will receive PR card before I leave Canada.

Sure you can. You don't need to have the card to have the status.

You can send the P/R card to someone living in Canada.
