Hi,
First of all, I would like to thank everyone in this forum for their help and support. My husband sponsored me to Canada, and now they have asked for a few things again.
I have been told that our application is near finalization, but I am very confused about it. I think people on this forum would be the best source of advice, so please let me know anyyy input you guys have about the following:
1) I recieved a phone call from an immigration officer, and then an e-mail notifying me that the process is in its last steps. Is that genuine? I mean I have never heard of anyone getting a phone call for this matter ???
2) The passport I have right now is a manual one. I have been told by agents that the visa to enter Canada will not be issued on a manual passport. I will need to provide a machine readable one...is that true??? Does Canada have any rules like that?
(I have been told that now all countries across the world are following this rule)
3) If the process is really in its last stages, my agent has told me that I will have only one month after the final approval to move to Canada.
However, I am working here, and I am unable to resign so quickly. So Can I show entry in Canada and then move back to wrap up everything ?
4) I have also heard that if I am living with my husband (my sponsor- a Canadian citizen), I don't have to fulfill the requirement of living 3 out of 5 years in Canada. And that I will maintain my PR status even if I live and work anyywhere in the world (as long as I am living with him)...is that true??
5) What are some of the things I have to be careful of when I enter Canada for the first time? What do I have to declare? and what do I have to bring?
I am panicking right now, because I don't know how long the PR card will take to arrive. I think I have to stay in Canada until my PR arrives, and that can take months.
Please let me know guys...it will be a hugeeeee help!
Thanks soooo much [/size]
