Hello Experts,

Me and my wife, got our PR today, as we applied together via a joint application (I am the primary applicant and she is my dependent) :):)

Both of us have been given 5 months to land in Canada i.e. till 16th Nov'2017.

I have few doubts:-

1) Can I go first and my wife can accompany me later?

2) I am the primary applicant and my wife is the dependent - if she comes at a later date, will there be any issues or hindrances in her landing?

3) How will she show proof of funds at the time of landing, if she comes later? because if we land together I can & will have to show funds to cover both of us.

4) Are there any other issues or complications if I go first and then my wife comes later, even though both have been granted PR under one application with same deadline?

I really appreciate your time and attention.

Thank You.

Regards
RJ.

Hi

1. Yes.

2. As long as she lands before the expiry, no issue.

3. She doesn't need to show proof of funds.

4. As said above, no.

@canuck_in_uk - Need one more help from you.

At the time of landing in Canada, I need to show $15k approx to support me and my wife. I need to understand which form should these funds be in. e.g. Cash, Traveller's Chq, bank statements with funds in India or Fixed Deposits, Mutual Funds?

I'm not sure what the specific requirements are for proof of funds. I suggest you look through the forum, there are probably many threads about the topic.

I checked the forums and they are little confusing, coz they are in regards to proof of funds for applying under ITA and not at the time of landing.

Hi jumanirohan,

How did the landing go for both of you? Please let me know I have the same case as yours? Also do they not give you six months PR visa to arrive to Canada?

Thanks for your time
