Hello!

I'm a little confused here, so I got a few questions for you all.

I'm landing in Canada on march 15, 2011 on a temporary work permit.

Do I have the same requirements and benefits as a settler when it comes to bringing goods? I.E. do I need to fill out the goods to follow forms and such?

If I need to do that I have a follow-up question. Under which category do I fall? Settler or Seasonal Resident?
The permit is valid for 12 months and I'm going to try to extend my stay there if possible as I'm going there with my girlfriend who has a skilled worker visa.

Anything else I need to know?

Thanks.

No, not the same requirements as a permanent resident landing in Canada. You are not allowed to import all of your possessions to Canada as your permit is temporary, not permanent.

If you are coming on a WP, you need to have your visa affixed in your passport, letter from the visa issuing embassy, copy of your LMO and copy of your signed work contract.

I got the permit under the International Experience Canada program. Do I still need an LMO? Because it was not a requirement in my application.

No. You will be given an open work permit (subject to conditions of not working in areas important to protect public health, such as:

* health services;
* child care;
* primary or secondary education; OR

# you are coming to work in an agricultural occupation )
