Hi,

I landed yesterday at Prescott-Ogdensburg, 50 minutes south from Ottawa, in the early afternoon.

My experience : no queue at the USA border booth but I had to wait 20 minutes in the office to receive the refusal letter.

Then, no queue at Canada border but it then took 30 minutes to complete my landing.

There was a lot of people (more than a dozen) waiting in the border office.

The agent was not really nice, he asked me to show
- the CoPR and passport of course,
- letter from my employer,
- proof of funds (I had to tell him that under CEC I don't have to show PoF, and I later figured out that he didn't know that CEC class means Experience Class),
- all my previous worker and visitor proof of status that he kept.

He told me it'd take 90 days to receive my PR card (CIC told me that it'd take 50 days); he said I can still leave Canada to my country of origin and come back without my PR card, because I'm now a PR in their system, but it's up to the airlines to allow me to board on the plane.

No 'welcome to Canada !' as some people have experienced.

But still I'm very glad to have done it !

For info : Prescott-Ogdensburg doesn't have cyclist and pedestrians path.

And eventually you did not show POF? and she let you pass it?

Eventually I did not show proof of funds.

I am sinp nominated applicant and will be landing soon.


Can you please tell me what docs are needed at the time of landing. ?

When I am landing, I will have the following documents on hand:

* My degrees, transcripts, and assessments
* My reference letters from my employers
* My nomination certificate
* My medicals
* Updated bank statements
* Receipts for foreign exchange
* A copy of my PPR letter
* CoPR
* Two photographs
* Copies of my PCCs

Basically, any and all documents that I have used during my application(s), I will have on hand. Best to be safe, and this is the safest way to be safe.

I would follow IRCC guideline as what to carry at border when landing i.e. Passport,COPR and current work permit.

For proof of funds i am gonna tell border officer that its requirement for FSW.

I have no idea why the CBSA agent asked me a letter of my employer. And I didn't want to discuss it with him, as he seemed a little bit...
This letter was the job reference letter I sent to CIC in my application.
To be on the safe side, I brought with me all the documents I sent to CIC.

I m landing in Toronto this December.
My wife will be following me in January.

Do I need to split the POF amount between the two of us when we are traveling?

Or is it ok for the principal applicant to carry the POF in the form of a bank statement?

Does the dependent need to carry the POF document too?

1. Is it important that all themembers who have namein the application shall land together. I have my wife n daughter withme.can i come alone initially and call them after2-3 months.

2. What all goods can i bring. And what isthe procedure to call or bring all goods . Plzhelp.ok

Please help

You can land first and yur wife and kids after, as long as they land before the expiration date of the CoPR.

For your goods, refer to CBSA website, but I think there is a link in the letter received with the CoPR, concerning your question.

Hi Guys,

Finally received my PR visa and am set to travel in November. I had a couple of questions:

- is it neccesary to enter from the port of entry mentioned in the visa, as I my case it is mentioned as Toronto, but I want to enter through Edmonton
- the proof of funds can be different from the one submitted at the time of application? the bottom should match or current PoF can be more, offcourse
-as my PR card will be initiated as soon as I enter, if it doesn't come before the expiry date of my PR visa (which is end jan), then how do I stay in Canada during that period?

will be really great to have your views on this one...thanks

Question for anyone who has already landed there- For the list of goods accompanying us, and the list of goods to follow, we write down each article, as well as quantity and make. Is writing the market value necessary, too? A lot of this stuff is very old, and I don't know how much it would cost.

Can I ask: I assume you can do landing anytime of day or night right? Can landing be done late at night for example?
I am just thinking what is the best time to go.
