Landing in Canada from US in a rental car (US Plates)

Need expert advise from forum members...I recently received my COPR and plan to Land in Canada in a rental car (I am in Boston and will drive to NB, Canada). My entry in Canada however is just to complete my landing formalities so I plan to return to US in a week or so and will move to Canada for good sometime later. My questions are:

1) Can I run into issues at the border when landing in a rental car with US Plates ?

2) Will there be any issues if I mention that I am landing temporarily and will go back to US in few days ? Not telling the truth might not help as our (I am traveling with my family) luggage will obviously indicate that we are not relocating for good.

3) I got my PR through NBPNP but can I provide my friend's Toronto address for our PR cards ?

Any insights/suggestions will be deeply appreciated.

Thanks in advance!

1) A US rental car won't be a problem.

2) Many people do what is called a "short landing" and none of them seem to have any issues with that. So you can tell them the truth, which by the way is always the way to go with immigration officers. Never try to lie your way through something.

3) If you tell the border officer that you will return to the US within a few days and actually move later, they won't start the PR card process and instead will tell you that as soon as you actually move to Canada, you should inform CIC about your address. THEN they will start the process for your PR cards.

Hello there,
Did you really complete your landing in Canada using an American rented car? How was it? Everything was ok? Thanks for your attention!
