I am a visitor in Canada being sponsored by my spouse and I finally received my perm residence app approval today. I now have to "land" so I have to either schedule an appointment (4-8 weeks) or go to a border crossing to present my papers. Obviously, I don't want to wait another 1-2 months to get an appointment but I do not have a car to travel to the border. I do, however, live right next to the Vancouver International Airport. Can't I just present my papers over there or must I go to Blaine, Washington a few hours away to do it?

Unfortunately you can't do it at an airport - you have to land at a US/Canada land border. The airport only works if you are entering Canada via an international flight.

Ask a friend to take you as a passenger in his/her car, so that you can land at the US/Canada land border. Besides, the driving distance between Blaine and Richmond doesn't take a few hours to do it.

Alternatively, you can always take a bus to US and back.
