I am waiting my passport and will soon land. My daughter is in the Philippines. I know I need to meet her in Vancouver and need to land first before she comes. What else do I need to know or bring when she lands in Vancouver airport? What do I need to bring when I land to a border? Thanks a lot.

You "land" when you arrive in your first port of entry.
I noticed in the other post that you are a PNP immigrant. I read somewhere in the forum that PNP immigrant, once landed, need to live in the province nominate them in first place and then can move elsewhere. Hope someone else will clarify this.
Immunizaton records are usually given to you after your child was born by the government in your home country. Bring them as this is one of the required documents you need register your child for education:

Yes, I will be a PNP immigrant. I think it has been a long question and doubt if we should stay in the province where you are nominated but with some threads I will see that once you are an immigrant, you are not an immigrant of that province. I will not move in an instant. I want to receive my PRC then plan on moving. I hope it is ok. The paper that I signed states "intend" to stay but no number of years or months. I don't know if it is better if they placed a number so you know up to when to stay.
I was thinking of meeting my daughter in Vancouver since that will be the first entry to Canada but if I can get a flight and the first entry is in Edmonton or Calgary that will be great since it will save me time and money.

I read this too. I am living in MB and just meeting my daughter in Vancouver because that is the first port of entry then either have a road trip back to MB or fly. I plan to land at Coutts and check the glaciers

Have you also done research about bringing your car to Canada? It's another story anyways.

Hello all! As I promised I am sharing my experience crossing the US/Canadian border as a new permanent resident.
This was our first landing and we had our car with us.
We arrived at Sarnia border at midnight and the immigration officers were very efficient, nice and friendly. they took care of all our papers and we were done in about 40 mins. We described on a peace of paper what goods we are bringing with us. They also asked how much currency we carry and they said since its our first landing we are not going to pay any taxes, even for the car. The only condition for bringing your car for first landing is that you can not sell it for one year. Basically we had very smooth and pleasant experience at the border.
