Hi,

I have a quick question.

I got my PR application approved and got my COPR. I have Ontario PNP and currently living in Montreal-Quebec.

How I will proceed for my Landing as on my COPR the landing city and Province is Ottawa- Ontario.

I got a lease for house from Cornwall-Ontario which will start from July 15th and I will move there at that time.

Can I do landing now by showing my Cornwall address or wait for 15th July. Will I go to border or do it from Ottawa immigration office.

Need help please suggest.

Thanks

Just read through this..

Upon landing, you are suppose to give address (not copy of lease or anything like that). That is it! You also do not have to tell them that you are moving to that address on July 15th. They are never going to ask. All they need is a Canadian address so that they can send you PR card. So, I would suggest you do your landing as soon as possible. In your case, you must provide an address in Ontario only (since you have been selected under Ontario's PNP)

For landing, you can land anywhere in Canada (try avoiding Quebec, because they require additional paperwork). It doesn't matter.

Hi All,

I have a query and seeking a solution for the same. I have got my visa and CoPR and have to make a landing by October 2016. However, initially I just wish to make a landing by coming to Toronto for a day or so and would move to Canada permanently sometime later this year or next year when I have a dedicated job in hand. However, I need to give a Canadian mailing address to receive my PR card but I don't have any relatives in Canada at the moment.
So I wanted to ask if there are any reliable immigration service providers/lawyers/consultants who I can hire and who can receive my PR card on my behalf and courier to me. Has anyone else faced a similar issue before and what could be a workable solution?

I got mine through UPS Mailbox. No need for lawyer

Hi XpressEnterprise ,

Thanks a lot for your reply, I will check out the option of UPS mailbox and this seems workable. :)

Also I wanted to know, during my landing when the immigration official asks about the address I can mention about the UPS mailbox right? Wanted to know if you were able to disclose this and it worked OK for you.

Thanks & Regards.

They asked for address, I told them address. THAT'S IT!

When your spouse, immigration official or a police officer ask you a question, you answer ... but only the specifics. Tell them what they have asked. Nothing more, nothing less. ;D

Hi All,

I have a query and seeking guidance for the same. I have got my visa and CoPR with family of 3. Initially, I wish to land alone and then by end of this year will call my family after Do you people think this wouldn't create any problem at immigration?

Yes. It's perfectly fine for PA to land first and dependents to follow later.

Only that they will be eligible for citizenship later than you.

Plus, you must show Proof of funds for entire family when YOU land. (when your dependents land, they will not be required to show proof of funds)

I'm a provincial Nominee of Nova Scotia, and as per instructions in CoPR my final destination should be Haifax, Nova Scotia.

I'm from Pakistan and there are no direct flights to Halifax. Hence I know that i have to get connecting flight via Montreal/Toronto to Haifax.

Questions are:

1. How much time will the process of landing and immigration take on Montreal/Toronto airport.
2. At least how much time span should be between arrival flight in Montreal/Toronto & departure flight to Halifax?
3. What is maximum time span i can stay at Montreal/Toronto and then go to Halifax (with my tickets confirmed for Halifax)?

1) Landing at Montreal or Toronto would take 3 hours (depending on airport congestion)
2) Minimum connection time for within Canada flights is:
i) Montreal = 15 min
ii) Toronto = 45 min
Source
3) Forever. Once you have cleared immigration and landing procedure at your first port of landing, you can move around anywhere. That is up to you. and there is no time limit for domestic flights.

I have one question about the PR application. Do we still need to fill it and carry with us when we land for the first time in Canada. My wife received her PR (IM-1) visa and soon soon she is coming to Canada. She is coming to Canada for the first time.
