Thank you for provided sample. As I understand the value of goods should be approximate? Can you plz advise if I should have separate Lists for each bag?

Not required. You can have just one master list. However it will make sense to group similar items together. Like all electronics in the list should appear one after another, then clothes, etc etc.

If it's an International airport then it will definitely have immigration facilities.

I am living in Canada. I can not find any official list of things to bring when landing at the border. Passports, CoPR are a must. Are there any other important things? Thanks

All important documents and processes are already documented on the very first page of this thread.

There is no limit on how much funds you take into Canada, but there is a limit on how much foreign exchange you can take out of India (imposed by the Indian government). I think it is about 25000 USD per year per person, which is about 32000 CAD. You should be OK.

Dear All ,

I am also facing a similar situation as above...

We are family of 4 and got our PR in August 2015. I am planning to land in the month of April 2016.

However, my son's passport is expiring in August 2016 i.e. 5 months prior to my departure.

I am flying via emirates with a 5 days stopover at Dubai.

My question is that since most of the airlines do not allow to board with the passports less than 6 months validity , I got my son's passport renewed. Now his visa in on the expired / cancelled passport. Will he be allowed to travel on his visa which is affixed on his previous passport ? Or should I get the same transferred to his new passport .

Has anyone faced similar situation and has traveled on the valid visa on expired / cancelled passport ?

Please advise urgently

Thanks

Hi,

I had similar situation. Visa Office should be notified before you proceed with changing passport. Ideally, you need to align passport change with visa office. Visa Office put visa into the passport of my daughter and disregarded expiry date. I placed CSE with Visa Office where I explained the situation and airline requirements for at least 6months validity. My Visa office tried to oppose my position saying that there is no official rule for that requirement BUT I insisted. Finally, after several emails back and forward I received their OK to proceed with passport revision. After the revision of my daughers passport I resent new passport with CORP to Visa Office via VAC.Sometime later, I received new Visas for my daughter.

Therefore, urgently place CSE and Visa Office will instruct you accordingly.

My visa office is warsaw but the visas were processed at New Delhi. I contacted New Delhi and they told me to submit the renewed passport along with COPR and also the passports of all other accompanying members with the COPR. The photos also need to be sent. The visa will be transfered to the new passport by paying some fees.

However, I have come across CIC manual which says that we can travel on valid visas on expired passports.

Since CHC New delhi is saying to submit the passport etc, I dont think there is any need to raise a CSE at warsaw office .

What do you say

My wife and I have traveled at least once with visas (not Canadian) on an expired passport. The IO simply checked the valid visa, compared the old and new passports and let us through.

I think we need to understand CIC rules and airline rules are different. As I said CIC tried to assure me that there was no need to revise passports as there is no 6month validity requirement as per some Immigration Act. I do believe CIC but there is also requirement by certain airlines to have at least 6month validity for passport. Since I did not want to have even small possibility having problem with embarking airline flight I made them re-issue visa. Also, at that time I did not have airline chosen yet.

If you already chose airline then I advise you to call it and talk to them. Once again 6months passport validity issue is with Airline not CIC.

Hi Samir ,

I have already booked the ticket via Emirates with 4 days stopover at Dubai. Also , i have already got the new passport of my son and now the immigrant visa is on the expired passport.

So, either I travel with the old and new passport together or get the visa transferd to new passport.

Did you fill up any form also while transfering the visa to new passport ?
