New rule if u coming for short landing dosent matter but if u didn't recive ur pr card u have to apply for visa if u go out without pr card now a pr card taked about 4 to 5 month so keep that thing in ur mind and if Pakistani people looking for and apartment do search near to to thorncliff or in thorncliff area a majority of Pakistani over there and mosque is really good u also find a halal shop there so leaving in downtown is not good with families every day one news of downtown at channels else up to u
syed from canada

Totally misleading. There are no changes to any rule. PR card takes 2-3 months to come. If you leave Canada in between, you will need to request a travel document from Canadian consulate. Same standard process. No changes.

Also, I do not understand why even after migrating to a new country you want to be close to "lots of people from your own country". I understand you would miss culture, food etc etc from your country and once in a while you would like to enjoy that.
But when you are here, try to integrate with the local culture and people.

Seniors, one more question about landing.

How many days it will take to update ECAS status? I have completed landing 1 week ago and still not showing it on ECAS.

Now that you have landed, do not bother much about ECAS. You will get PR card in 3 months or so.
ECAS will display landing details in few weeks.

Thanks to qorax for providing such an indepth breakdown of the landing process. So helpful.
I have one question. I have heard that when we land, we DO NOT have to fill the PR CARD application form. They only ask for your Canadian address, as they already know you are entering first time into Canada and they have all the other details as outlined in the form. Can someone please confirm this? Thanks!

Hi Everyone,
I've just got my CoPR today and will do landing soon. I am currently living in Saskatchewan and don't want to drive to the border. The instruction said we can land at port of entry of international airport so we are not sure if we can just take a flight to Calgary airport and do landing there? Anyone has experience? Thanks

It has to be an inbound international flight. Local flight passengers don't go through customs and immigration.

I am living in Canada. I can not find any official list of things to bring when landing at the border. Passports, CoPR are a must. Are there any other important things? Thanks

Hey Guys,

so I did my landing today at the Calgary airport.. the process was pretty straight forward for me. Less than 5mins....No question about my POF.. the officer just looked at my passport and COPR, asked if I have ever been convicted or arrested before. I replied no....And he said "Welcome to Canada.. YOU are now a PR :o :o :o"

All the best guys...

I have booked my flight from karachi to calgary for 7th march, but the problem is the transit time at the istanbul airport is just 1 hour which i believe will not be enough, what do you guys say ??? if i change for an earlier flight i get a transit time of 2.5 hours , has anyone who travelled by turkish can tell me that is a trasnit time of 1 hour enough and if not do u have any idea of the fees to change the ticket for an earlier time ?

Per my Info, its airlines responsibility to get you on the next connecting flight if the first one gets delayed due to any airline reason, so if you land in time then run to the next flt, and if your flt reaches late then go to airline help desk and ask them to rebook you on the next flight at airlines expense. However Its better you also speak to airlines in Karachi and confirm this with them forehand.

If you are taking a thy flight from Istanbul, in most likelihood it will be delayed as most THY flights are. However, 1 hour is a very short time to rush through istanbul airport which is huge. I dont think u will go thru passport check but if u will, you will definetely take more than one hour. I wouldnt risk it.

1 hour to transfer is not enough even on best of the days when all flights are on time and there is lesser crowds.
You should consider that it takes 15 mins or so for a plane to taxi and boarding doors to open once it has landed. After you get down of the plane, you need to walk some distance, go through a round of security for your hand held luggage and reach the boarding doors of another flight.

In simple words, I do not think you will be able to transfer to the next fight in one hour. Always try to have 2-3 hours gap for a comfortable transfer.
