Thanks buddy I will check this out .

I need a bit help , do we have to show POF at landing , even if we have a offer letter of job?? I applied for job after getting a visa and got a job offer.

Hi Team,

Need some info.

I have today got my Drivers Licence verification letter from Transport Office in India.
My licence was issued more than 10 years back and my Name on the driver licence does not include Last name. The TO issued the letter based on the info on my driver licence. However, my passport has my last name as well.

Question is will the Canadian authorities raise question on my verification letter? What is the worst case scenario for me?
I am due to land in June.

I was having similar problem but they issued me license because my father name was misspelled
otherwise u have to start whole process from the beginning in Canada which is not easy and very expensive.
try to correct your name in your home country license according to your visa and passport.

Job offer should be verified by the ESDC. Only letter head employment offer is no more accepted for foreigners, as u are still foreigner.
Proof of funds should be according to visa such as if u r on FSW1 then u have to show it.
please do not take risk, at the final stage

Hi Nekeol,

I also have a similar problem...my wife DL has her maiden name...
What do In case of her...
Her maiden name can be seen on her old passport and new passport has new name.

If I go to Transport authorities in India...they will give the verification letter with her maiden name.

I tried to inquire with a few others who have landed successfully and had a similar problem.
Its all on reviewing authority/ officers discretion. They are basically looking for the verification letter on the driving license number which has the immigrant details. Now, they have already got all the documents they needed for immigration well verified. If we have the letter from authority in home country that the license belongs to us is in most cases accepted by them. However, some of us may need to do lot of explanation to convince the officers on minor mistakes and a few officers may not accept the licence et all.

Fact is if the licence is not yet expired, there is no way you can renew it in India. Mine is old Name card type and nowadays they issue Plastic card with chip. To make changes on the licence, we need to go thru the entire process of getting a new one. Its worth it no doubt! But I work overseas and cant wait. So I am going to try my luck with the existing licence without the last name on it and the verification letter issued today.

Hi Friends,

While taking the printout of the GOLD in Goods to Follow, can it be just a colour printout or should I take photo print from a photo studio?

I am landing on the 13th January in Toronto.

Thanks
Vinodh

A color print on a good quality paper should be fine. you can also get photo paper from a stationary shop.

Even my wife got a valid UAE license...but it will great difficulty to get a verification letter from there.
So I will just get a verification letter from India.

I think FDs should be good to go. Not too sure about the Mutual funds - anything that is volatile e.g. MFs / stocks etc are not readily accepted as POFs.

Thanks buddy I will check this out .

I checked this out this one doesn't cover per existing condition and pregnancy falls under that.

Anyone knows if someone land while pregnant how does pregnancy care work and delivery cost as ON has 90 days waiting time for OHIP ?

there is a website offering cheap tickets ( cheapers than others) i.e. student universe ( https://www.studentuniverse.com ) , it looks like a big company but I doubt it because the difference is quite big . Does anyone has experience with them ?

As long as your funds are easily convertible to liquid money the POFs should suffice for showing to CIC. I'm not sure if you carry those FDs with you to Canada and if those would be deemed valid or not.. typically people take a bit of hard cash along with drafts / traverller's cheques. For application purpose FDs etc should be good. For travel purpose perhaps it's better to go for combination of cash and cheques / money cards etc.
