***URGENT ***

Seniors...need ur help..

I am planning to travel to canada during Jan 2016 just to complete the landing formalities and I want to return after 2 days. Is it fine to return immediately after 2 days ?

But I also, learnt from this forum that, IM officer will ask, how days you intend to stay,
so should i say 2 days ?

Thanks
Rajanat

You are confused with immigrants and visitors. IM officers will ask visitors of Canada how long they are staying, but not permanent residents and its citizens. A lot of newcomers come to Canada for short landing and return to their home countries. This is a non issue.

Thanks a lot steaky..

since you said IM Officer will not ask about the days we will be staying,
Should I be fine, even if travel sometime by 1st week of March, just before my visa expiration on 16th march ?
I am just thinking due to cold weather around Jan, should i postpone travel to March

Appreciate your response..

Thanks
Rajanat

You have to land before your visa expires.

I am planning for a short visit for 5 days and then come back , will ask my freind to courior me the PR card once he gets it. For this I will have booked a return ticket , will the agents in canadian airport check my ticket. If they see my return ticket they might ask questions because as per visa i am an immigrant .

A whatsapp group is created for PRs from India landing in Canada during Jan / Feb 2016. PM me your contact number if you want to join.

They will not ask you about your plans of staying in Canada. you will be asked about only B4a form and how many funds you have in your possessions when you land.

Hello,

My friend has created a group for accommodation in Toronto or Montreal. PM if any one is interested.

Thanks,

Landed at Toronto Pearson International Airport on 18th December 2015. Thanks everyone for all the help.

Steps to follow are listed below:

Before Landing at Toronto the Air-hostess will supply the Immigration Desk Checklist Form for Port of Entry. Fill the details.

After you disembark from the Airplane go to Immigration Desk.

Tell them purpose of visit is "Landing".

They will ask you to go to another room. The Officer will ask for COPR & Passport. She will sign the COPR & stamp the Passport.

They asked me how much money I had with me. Since it was less than $10K. They didn't ask me to fill anything else.

There is another desk from where I applied for a SIN.

Then collected my Bag.

Went to CBSA. Told them I don't have to bring anything later except for Jewelry. They asked for a summary and Pics. I had prepared all the documents as mentioned in Qorax's thread:
Form B4 (Goods to Follow/Accompanying List): How to ???
I gave the summary of the Jewelry + Pics (2 Sets).

The officer filled all forms for me. Then Officer kept one copy and returned one to me after stamping it along with a copy of 2 receipts.
Collected it and was on my way to Air Canada Counter.

Air Canada arranged for another connecting flight to my destination City. I checked in my Luggage and took the flight with my Hand Baggage.

Thanks all for helping.

Me and my wife will be landing in January, 2016. Do I need to bring all the money i.e. 14000 CAD (Proof of fund) in Cash OR I can bring only some small necessary amount and the rest of money in the form of Bank Statement from my Home Country?
Yes, you can bring as little as you want. Carry a signed and sealed letter from bank which can prove that you have sufficient settlement funds.
I did the same.

I still have a doubt with B4 and B4A forms. Our main/hand baggage are already checked by the airport officials. So, is it still necessary to list out the items we carry in the baggage? Also, I am travelling on Mar 4th and my wife and kid are coming a month later on Apr 4th. We haven't planned yet on what my wife will be bringing. I have a plan to study things in Canada in that 1 month and then advice her to bring things based on my understanding of the Canada market. In that case, how can I fill the B4A form? Please advice.

Anything that you bring on your first arrival in check-in bag does not need a formB4. this is what custom officer told me. For safety, prepare a FormB4 for all goods your wife will be getting with her. You need to supply this form with your first landing (when u land) and get it stamped by customs. If your wife gets stopped by customs (which is unlikely), produce this form.

I think, technically, when your wife does her first landing, all items she brings with her will be her "goods accompanying". So I don't know if you need to declare it in your B4a form. Thoughts on this, seniors?

Good to hear your landing experience.

However, I would like to know if I do not have any address in Canada yet. How should I fill the form for SIN and PR card?!

Thanks

Re: DO WE NEED TO DECLAIR THE PROPERTY OUTSIDE CANADA AT THE TIME OF LANDING

HI ALL,

I GOT MY PASSPORT AND COPR IN SEPTEMBER AND PLANNING TO COMPLETE THE LANDING FORMALATIES IN MARCH/APRIL. I HAVE A QUESTION AND I NEED ADVICE FROM SENIORS ON THAT. DO WE NEED TO DECLAIR ANY PROPERTY ON MY NAME AT THE TIME OF LANDING TO CANADIAN AUTHORITIES OR IT WILL BE DECLAIR WHILE FILLING THE TAX RETURN. PLEASE NOTE THAT IT IS ONLY A PLOT FILE AND I DO NOT HAVE ANY REGISTRATION IN MY NAME, ONLY IN THE SOCIETY RECORD IT IS IN MY NAME, HOWEVER THERE ARE REGULAR PAYMENT FROM MY ACCOUNT WHICH I HAVE TO MAKE FOR THE INSTALLMENT OF THAT PROPERTY.

THANKS AND KIND REGARDS,
