My wife who is the Primary Applicant is going for her "Landing" Meeting at CIC Office. She is not carrying any list of good to follow. When I'm going enter Canada next month I'm going to carry some small items with me and some Jewelry belonging to my wife. Does she need to declare anything in today's meeting?

You can declare them on your own goods accompanying list.

I'm already finished with my landing. and i asked the officer to send my papers to my consultant. But then he said that what is in the system will be my address. If i want them changed i have to do it online or contact cic.

So what i did is i changed my address in my ecas. Is that the one that i need to change?

ARe they going to deliver my PR card on the address written on my ecas?

I would be on the safe side if I just take a bank statement. Is it possible to take an official statement from bank and show on the borderline. I can bring 5000 cash rest in my home country's bank account.need expert comment plz

Hi All,
A query regarding the health insurance plan. I am planning to land in Toronto and will be taking private health insurance for the initial period.

I wanted to know for how long should I take private insurance;

a) whether it is 90 days from the date of landing
b) whether it is 90 days from the date of insurance application at Service canada for OHP
c) Or should I wait x no days after applying in service canada which could vary based on their processing times (but will be around 3 months).

Pardon me if it was answered already; I couldn't find a response regarding this.. Thanks in advance.

You can legally use your Dubai licence for 60 days from your arrival date.

Unfortunately, you can't do a straight exchange from a Dubai licence to an Ontario one. You will need to take the driving test etc.

Thanks much Lammawitch.

90 days from the date of landing for sure

Hi guys, i have this question regarding bringing funds to canada.

Suppose i have a 50K CAD dollards to bring in to Canada and I am taking only 15K CAD during my first entry.

If I do a fund transfer (for the remaining 35K ) from another country to Canada via Bank, will this be charged Tax in the later year?

Do we need to declare that this amount (35K CAD) will be coming in later?

Main question is regarding the tax.

Any help will be appreciated.

Thanks in advance.

You will not be taxed on savings brought to canada.
