LANDING IN CANADA ??? -All You Need To Know.

Assalam o Alaikum,
I am very thankful to Allah (SWT) that today I am sharing our landing experience. We took Air Transit (Thomas cook) flight from London. Will not recommend as there is almost no leg space and we asked if we can get seat next to exit for which they asked £39 per person one way, extra drinks and head phone were not free. Landed at Toronto airport, immigration took few minutes, funds were checked (not counted) extra photos were not asked as the officer was happy with the one on landing papers, customs took more as the photos of jewellery were not very clear and list of goods to follow was not detailed. (Qorax mentioned so many times to be prepared but I missed the trick with photos, list to follow and travel money). Exchange few £ for $ at airport, would not recommend at all. Shuttle service was already booked so went to Hotel in Downtown, Delta Chelsea Hotel, excellent location and the largest hotel in Canada, but expensive too, only internet cost $6 for 15 minutes. but as I said location was great. They didn't have 3 pin adopter so we had to buy from shop to charge our mobiles and toothbrushes. Applied for SIN card which around 20 minutes, spent 7 nights and now back to London.
I am really thankful to this forum where I learned a lot from seniors especially Qorax.

I placed a reservation of safehomestay on 23 oct for december ist wk

But still they did not send me any confirmation email...though they told ,they will provide confirmation within 24 hrs at the time of reservation.

I have sent mail for confirmation,,,but they did not respond,,,,what can I do???

Pls sggest....

Call their No. - it's available on their website. Spk to Thomas or Caroll.

No. POF is shown only once - during the PA's landing.

Thanks for this mental relief....

Not a problem. This happens due the shortage of character space on each field on the forms/cards. On their system it'd show correctly.

Eg. If the name is "Granderfargoussen" - most likely it'd show "Granderfarg" on the forms/cards.

qorax, if the waiting time for OHIP is 3 months, do they even take the application or they tell you to return in three months? I'm planning to land in December. Does Services Canada also deals with insurance cards besides SIN?

I got PR visa under FSW. My visa is valid until july. I am planning to land in Nov. and May my family will join me. The name given for me in visa is re arranged
like name is NARAYANA SAMY VENKATESHRAJ according to passport but the visa and landing paper came as NARAYANA VENKATESHRAJ SAMY. Weather this name will cause me prob. while landing. seniors pls let me know.Thank u.
