I need an advice please. I am planning to move to Canada in the month of December 2014. MY wife and family will be coming in the month of April 2015. Will that be a problem in immigration, i am the primary applicant. Should I notify the NDVO about it, is there any format to send it to them. And what email Id should i send the query to.

There shouldn't be a problem with that and you don't have to notify NDVO, you as a primary applicant must land before your dependents, or you can land with them, but they can not land before you.

You have to show proof of funds for the whole family, then they can follow you in April 2015.

Gents,

I am practicing filling PR card application form. I need clarification for the following:

Do I have to fill-in Section C, personal history section question 19, 20 and 21. And section D Residency Obligations?

It seems that these sections are intended for those renewing their PR cards.

Please share your experience.

You do not need to fill out this form for your landing formalities. The CASA officer will complete the application of your PR card on your behalf.
This form is only for the application to replace a PR card.

Thank kuskus, are you sure of this, some applicants in the forum advise to have the IMM5444E for readily pre-filled.

This is really confusing.

There is no official site.

You "guesstimate" ;). Eg: your old laptop: how much would you sell it for, if you tried to sell it?

If you have no idea, look at similar items on Craigslist/eBay/Kijiji, etc.

The value only needs to be approximate & realistic. Jewelry, if expensive, may be worth getting an evaluation.

Thanks will check it out. And this may sound stupid however if you have expensive branded clothes will you evaluate them as per the brand value or just basis on Jeans, T-Shirt.

Unless newly purchased & unworn, you would just write "clothes, X$ (X=estimated $ value of all clothing)". no need to itemize: you are really overthinking this!! ;)

Hibuddies..i m landing in canada on 25th october for 15 days n then go back to home country for next few months. , will that be a problem? I will give address of my relative and he will receive the PR card and give it to me?

Secondly, if as an exceptional case, i get a call to receive PR card in person, what is the procedure. Will i risk my whole immigration process?

The info I gave you is the correct one; you do not need to fill that for for your landing.

Hi forum mates,

We are going to land in Canada on June 2016 and plan to come back after 45 days. I just want to ask if we are still allowed to come back without the PR card? Because i have read and some say that there are new rules in the immigration that you wont be able to go back to canada without PRcard.

Please I need your help regarding this one. Thanks a lot in advance

No you won't risk your immigration process.

If you are called to pick up your PR card in person (very rare) well, then you do so. If you are outside Canada at that moment, then you *may* need a PRTD to return to Canada. So, *if* that happens, you'll apply for PRTD.

I think you are worrying unnecessarily about putative & unlikely scenarios. Relax :).

I am planning to land in Canada in Feb 2016. Regarding POF, I heard that it is illegal to carry more then 10,000 dollars, but at the same time the requirement for POF is $11,374...so am i expected to take all this in cash? If yes, who shall i declare it to??
