Yes. That's the date your eCAS will state that you became a permanent resident.

All

for all those that have completed their landing process I have a quick question for you. I have been told that when you land and submit your CoPR at the respective Airport you are asked to provide proof of funds. Is this correct? This has already been done in the application process so I don't really understand as to why we need to do it again?

And if so would a bank statement be suffice?

Thanks in advance

Yes, & yes.

Having said that, sometimes CBSA don't ask about POF, but it is a requirement that can be asked for/checked at POE.

Chicago is in the US, so he needs a visa. He wouldn't need if he has a visa exempted passport.

The date you enter Canada at the airport they will put it in your PR papers and later it will be printed on your PR card

Yes, unless you have valid B1/2 visa.

PR holders need to get a visa to enter US. The visa process is easy and almost everyone gets it. People living near the border go to US for shopping almost everything.. but only when the currency is good.

Changing provinces is never a big issue you can anytime depending on your vsia but their are two points to consider:
1. It can be expensive resettling from one place to another especially if you have started settling in one .. I mean you set up your home /furniture etc.

2. There are many benefits offered by each province that you can avail only if you stay in a particular province for a particular period.

I'm not sure why you are trying to look for "loopholes".

The last sentence applies if you land in Ontario and then reside there, but don't yet meet the 12 month requirement as a new immigrant.

I would think that if you land in Ontario, go to live in BC, then return to Ontario, you would be considered as having moved from another province, even if it's in your first year in Canada.

However, your best option is to contact OSAP directly and ask.

No. Depending on airport, there may be a Service Canada office onsite to apply for SIN #. If not, just go to nearest Service Canada office the next day (or as soon as you can).

Apply for your provincial health card ASAP.

Don't forget POF if applicable:

Which forms do you need to download other than B4/B4a?
