LANDING IN CANADA ??? -All You Need To Know.

Hey guys,

today i received my PP and COPR. On my visa page, they indicated Calgary which is the city i choose in my application.

Question - does this mean I cant land in any other Province or city?

Does this mean we don't need to physically take all the funds with us and can show a local bank account statement as pof? Even if it's in our local currency?

I'm a family of 3 planning to land alone initially. So if i take about 7500 cad as cash and show the rest of my pof sitting in my local hsbc bank account will that be acceptable?

Yes, but you need certified and stamped bank statements from your HSBC bank.

Yes, a letter on Bank's official letter head which clearly states the balance in your account.
Signed and sealed.

There is no requirement that any proof of funds be "certified" or "sealed" or come in the form of a letter from a bank or other person with access to your accounts. CIC always states very clearly when documents must be certified/witnessed etc.

A simple statement of the accounts will do. If it's not in CAD I advise carrying also a printout from the Bank of Canada showing a recent exchange rate, so it will be easy for the officer to verify that the amount shown suffices. Even this is not a requirement, but merely a suggestion for convenience.

nekeol , THOUGH U CAN LAND IN ANY CITY OF CALGARY EXCEPT QC.but if u have applied for Calgary than try to land at Calgary -airport- u will be safe from other hassale. now u don't need to apply for PR card, its done automatically at airport at immigration desk. they will ask u yur address. if u have add give them. if not, than tell them that you will provide later . you can provide them your add in two ways one by going on cic website " address notification" fill out this form and send or second, they might give you a paper to fill and fax later. BUT remember you should give the add within 180days after landing OR than you have to pay the fee.

if this is your first PR CARD "NO:. You cannt enter Canada without PR card. Often ppl think they can with travel document . but travel document is for those who are renewing their PR card or reissuance is needed due to lost PR card in other words those who had PR card. better stay in Canada until u get yur 1st PR card

yur PR card is done automatically once you giv them the address at immigration while on airport. if u provide add later than do it within 180days after landing.

SIN card are not valid any more . now they provide sin paper. sin paper are provided at c" Canada service centre" google it you will know where this centre is located n your area , go there ASAP with pp and Landing papers . if all is ok , they will give u the SIN there and than,

Regarding POF - LET me mention few things. U must carry the required POF with you. if you are one person landing in Canada - carry one person required money. OR if let suppose you are 3 or 4 or 5 ......you can also carry their money for each individual even if they will join you later. all the POF you are CARRing WILL BE LOGGED IN THEIR pc data . SO WHEN REST OF THE FAMILY COMES IN TO CANADA they can say my money is already been carried by our PA. or PA MAY CARRY HIS PART OF THE POF. REST OF THE FAMILY MAY CARRY THEIRS. plz be honest they do check POF.
