For all landing(short or permanent) the following is a MUST list.
1. Passport
2. COPR both copies (original)
3. A Canadian address printed on a piece of paper
4. B4/B4A forms (2 copies each)
5. POF (Cash, TCs etc) and/or statements of bank accounts/stocks/investments
6. Photographs of Gold ornaments to be carried. (for customs)

For a short landing based on your needs you can check with customs that you are gonna bring items 5 and 7 at a later date and hence no need to fill in B4/B4A

Friends,

I am going to do a short landing on 12th June. Do I need to keep the PR card application ready or just the address for pr card mailing would suffice. Thanks

Hi Tag4u,

Is it really possible not to carry POF if you are coming for short landing?

Secondly, If we have shown the POF upon our first landing, then in any case, will immigration officer ask for POF during second(or subsequent) landing in Canada.
Have we seen any cases where immigration officer ask to show POF on second(final) landing?

Why i'm asking this is because i have plan to spend money after our short landing and for second landing I wont be having sufficient funds... Please help

Only real jewellery is to be declared. I mean silver, gold, platinum, diamond or other costly stones.

Hi buddies,

I have finally booked a KLM ticket to Calgary on 3rd July 2015 from New Delhi. Initially going alone for couple of months to settle down, then followed by my wife and 5 months old son after few months.

Anyone else travelling like me looking for a company?

I also hve a question regarding pof :

Now that I m travlling alone, do I need to carry proof of funds required for single person (around CAD 11k) or do I need to carry pof of all 3 family members (around CAD 18k) even though I m going alone?

If I need to carry single person pof, how much do I need when my wife and son are coming?

Or if i need to carry whole pof of CAD 18k while going alone, do I need to arrange for it again when my wife n son are arriving after few months?

Would really appreciate clarity on pof as it's kind of difficult to arrange it multiple times.

Regards
asb

Dear All,

At first would like to thank you all for your cordial support always. I need some info which are

1. I will be landing on 26th June in Toronto and in declaration form I have to mention how long will I stay and I want to stay for 27 days so should I put this 27 days there or keep it blank as some advised not to put any days over there

2. May i have the link for B4 form

Thanks in advance.

Raffee

Hello everyone ...

I just realized that on my visa & COPR, the "Given name" field is empty and my entire name is written in the "Family name" field.

My passport has these details in the reverse order, that is my entire name is written under "Given name" and there is nothing written under "Family name".

Will this be a problem for me? I would at least want my PR card to have the name identical to my passport.

I am landing on 5th of June, so kindly advise if I can handover IMM1436E form at POE to amend my name in PR card?

Hi All,

I am landing on 9th june.. I am only taking clothes and Cash..

I dont have any jewellery or any such thing with me , it is fine to have less than 10,000$ cash ?

secondly would i need to fill Form B4a?

Though local currency is preferred(the neighbor USD too), my guess is any currency above the POF limit should do good. As you can convert this once you land in Canada. However no matter what currency you carry the sum of all those if > 10K CAD must be declared.

Hello Guys,

for POF can I take euros or do I need to convert them into Canadian dollars?

Thanks

Risky I would say though many have landed successfully in the same manner as you wish for. Even for short landing why don't you get some funds in CAD or USD and sell them once you get back to your home country.

Ranjit,

Do you want risk traveling that far and not landing for not carrying POF? Please carry atleast 10K CAD and the rest you can show as investments.
After you get the PR card and when u land the second time you'd be NOT going to the immigration section at all. It would be customs and straight to baggage section like all Canadians/PR holders. So no question of Immi officer asking for POF for second time.
