Hi All,

I am planning to to land in Canada soon for 2 weeks and go back after all the formalities. For this I need to know following things-

1.) What should I apply for apart from SIN card and PR card?

2.) I am thinking not to apply for Medical as I don't have plans to live there until I come back to Canada permanently. Please comment on this.

3.) Should I open back account also?

Please give your valuable suggestions

** You get SIN no. immediately after landing formalities at the airport immigration service. PR card will reach automatically to the mailing address few weeks after(provide address of someone you know at Canada, or there are agencies who can receive & send back to your native address, you pay them) you provide during landing, unless there are issue like incorrect picture size.
2.) I am thinking not to apply for Medical as I don't have plans to live there until I come back to Canada permanently. Please comment on this.
** Correct decision.

3.) Should I open back account also?
**No. Open when you come again permanently.
Please give your valuable suggestions

Thanks dear for these valuable suggestions.....

Dear, Even then if you can manage computerized driving license from your own country, it would be worth to have it.
it would give some edge

I have a query regarding "Landing" interview. Most of the time, applicants are asked these questions.

1. Have you ever been convicted of a crime in Canada?
2. Have you ever been denied entry into Canada?
3. Have you ever been deported from Canada?

My question is ... if one was refused visa by CIC embassy (some time back), Should one say "Yes" or "No" during landing interview?
Answer is "NO", they are at that moment talking of scenarios at Entry Points.
Regarding visa rejection, you had already applied in you initial application.

Guys,

i will land in toronto international airport at 9.15pm,but my final destination in canada is calgary alberta, and my flight for calgary will be at 10.55pm,so my question is after completing all the immigration procedure will i be able to make it within this time frame,is there any change that i can miss my flight which will depart for calgary from toronto at around 10.55pm,please help
Dear,
from my experience of international travelling;
1. You are cutting too short on time, literally you would be like running at airport between different desks. but still you can make up, softly try to explain to immigration etc persons there.

2. As you fly from your first point, see if you get all boarding cards till final destination.
good luck

Hello,

I hope someone here can help me. I got my PR approved and just received my COPR and visa a few weeks ago. I already live in Canada, but I will be going back home for a short visit in a couple of weeks and I will do my landing when I return. Since I already live here, do I need a list of accompanying goods? all I will have with me is a suitcase with clothes and personal effects from my trip, but there will be nothing following.

If I do need it, should I pre-fill it or fill it out at the border?

Thanks
Dear,
If you intend to import in any household, FREE OF DUTIES / TAXES, you may still fill in the form and get it filled before time.
If you dont wanna import any, just mention NIL to submit it at border.
Good luck

Hi guys, I'm about to "Land" soon. Do I need to fill in the IM5444 form before I land? And I'm confused about the last 5 years addresses. Do I have to provide my pre landing addresses?
You need to mention the same addresses for 5 years, which relate to your initial application.

Hello great people.

Will be landing soon. Is it possible to land and depart after 3 weeks and then have a family member forward my PR card to me in my country? Are there agencies that can help to send it down to me in my native country or courier service? I will appreciate one with this experience share his/her experience.

Cheers

I would very strongly recommend you to allocate at least 5-6 hours to complete the formalities if you have to change the flight to Edmonton because usually, the formalities are concluded within 2 hours but sometimes, due to more people in the que, it takes more time. In my personal landing, they took three and a half hour and even after this much time, i was standing in the custom's que when one officer pointed me out and asked what i want. I told him that i had nothing for the baggage search but only had a bank draft to declare so he asked me to come out of the line otherwise it would have taken more than 4 hours to complete the process. Rest is up to you.
