does that mean we must travel by rental car to re-enter. we can't use greyhound bus etc.qorax said:Yes.
By Road entries (in Pvt. Vehs) r Ok with our COPR. However, if we take a public transport (Air, Sea, Road) we'd require the PRCs.

Congrats on your landing; & Welcome aboard !marco-cbu said:HI everyone! Me and my family have finally landed in toronto and it was just a smooth process..
@ the immigration counter, IO asked for our passports, asked where we were coming fr (dubai)..we told them we are doing our landing , IO checked and stamped the disembarkation card, returned to us, then we were asked to proceed to customs counter ,checked our COPR ,stamped ,told that we have to remain 2yrs in canada to retain our residency, we signed the COPR and then brochures/welcome to canada were handed to us.. we then headed to take our luggages, another CBSA counter/final counter took our disembarkation card and exited (we didnt have goods to follow list)..so smooth and simple indeed..
Senior Qorax, heres my question though, since we all are moving back to dubai after 2weeks,we've already arranged for our PR to be sent to us in dubai,my question now, should I apply for a CTB for my 3yr old son?
its mntioned in the welcome brochures that we shouldnt delay applying for the CTB not even after 9mos or so,since im planning to come back here after a year so i think i should be applying this now right? what do you think? is there an office or does service canada ofc deals with that? i got a hard copy form as well but with tax declaration forms too now this is spinning my head off !!? its mentioned i have to declare 2009 income? canada income obviously i dont have..but dubai yes..but i dont think they mean that..shall i put no income instead? i really would need your inputs Qorax, thanks in advance for the help ,i appreciate it! for healthcard by the way, i wouldnt be able to apply now since OHIP needs proof of residency like lease contract, utility bills and all..so far only these two arent possible i guess for now..thanks again Senior Qorax!!
No payslips needed... just self declaration.marco-cbu said:thanks for your prompt reply Qorax
Just one thing,do I have to attach any dubai payslip? if so,you think this is a good idea? i mean,
i would get taxed from now on based on my outside canada pay.. but of course if approved i would received my son's CTB entitlement..hehehe i hope anyone with similar experience would share..thanks again Qorax!!
The photo issue can occur with anyone, however well the pictures were clicked. Technically that shouldn't happen though, 'coz the pictures supplied for the COPR (against the PPR) r the same specifications (& used too) for the PR cards.nag1d said:Qorax,
I am getting ready for my landing this coming Friday. I have come across a few persons on this forum indicate delays in getting their PR cards due to issues with the photographs resulting in them having to travel back to Canada to submit the photographs in person. I have however, not seen anyone post the reason for photos getting rejected.
In order to avoid such a situation, would you please
- share any information on the care to be taken with PR application photographs
- let me know if my cousin in Canada (whose address I will provide during landing) will be able to submit it to the office in Canada on my behalf if my photographs get rejected. I am planning to get some pictures taken at a studio in Canada and leave it with my cousin just in case this request comes up. Photographers in the US do not give a guarantee on the photographs for Canada. They only vouch for US Passport photographs.
- let me know if I am required to travel to Canada before I get my PR card, will I be able to cross the border from the US again via rental car, using just the Certificate of Permanent Residence (CoPR) or will I need to apply for the travel document
Appreciate your response.
