Its not illegal. You can give your consultant's address.Hi All,
I have received PR confirmation last month. I am planning to land in Toronto with my family as only to complete landing formalities. Will stay at a hotel for a week and go back to my home country India. I am planning to give my immigration consultant address to send the PR Card. Consultant will courier the cards back to India. I am planning to travel permanently in the month of March 2018 as I need some time to sell off my properties in India.
My question here is, is it illegal to ask consultant to courier the PR cards back to India? Is it a violation?
Lets say I got PR cards from my consultant, When I travel back to Canada in March 2018 with my PR card, will I be questioned at the port of entry saying that I stayed only for a week when landed and how I got my PR cards??
Also I am planning to carry 12000$ along with me when I travel to complete landing formalities..After staying for a week when I go back to India can I take the funds back to India with me or should I deposit in the bank in Canada before leaving.
Please please respond.
No need to carry all the money mentioned in your application. Carry some for initial expenses and bank statement as PoF which they are least bothered to see now a days.Hi I recently got a job offer in Canada(Torono) and am planning to land in Toronto there on Nov 20th. For POF can i show my US Bank Statements and Avg Bank Balance statements or I will need to carry CAD $$$$ mentioned in Application with me.
Thanks @lushahz So Passport, CoPR, BankStatement/Credit/Debit cards will suffice or any other docs to be carried? No need to carry all the money mentioned in your application. Carry some for initial expenses and bank statement as PoF which they are least bothered to see now a days.

The other the way around is to apply for PRTD (http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/information/travel-document/index.asp) but its again long process to deal with. So the option you choose looks good.
For the very first time, if you are arriving at Port of Entry (in Canada), you need to carry POF (Proof of fund) from Indian bank to show that you have sufficient funds to survive. Also you can carry some cash (not more than 10K CAD otherwise you need to declare it).Thank you for the reply.
How about the money we carry for the first time..Should we deposit in Canada bank or we can bring it back to India.
