please help me with formalities me and spouse are landing for short term so we might just carry few clothes and documents ,i have few gold jewelries which i wear.for 3 months stay should i carry stove and few pickles and rice etc .can i come and buy these in canada .
also in future planning to bring foll items
1.pressure cooker
2.stiching machine.
3.iron box
4.hair dryer.straightner etc
i have few doubts should we carry money (pof ) first time can i use travellers cheques etc.should all items be mentioned in b4 form.can i tell them this is short landing.
Don't bring any food or they might be taken by the customs.

In addition, if you bring the above small appliances, you might need a step up electric converter because here in Canada we are using 110V. Besides, you can buy new ones in Canada. Money is not mentioned in the B4 form. You will have to declare that on a touch screen kiosk when you arrive at the Canadian airport.

Hi,

Thanks for all the info.

I & my wife are planning to make our first landing in St.Johns. We will be reaching there around noon time and are planning to take the return flight the same night (with a gap of 6-7 hours).

Do you see any problem with this ?

Thanks

No, but why the rush? If I were you, I would take advantage of the free national park pass (available online) and explore the island thoroughly.

Can anyone reply??

I did a short landing and left canada without apply for Health coverage (Ontario). I received my PR card through a friend. Will there be a problem when I apply for the OHIP later upon my return to Canada?

You got replied from multiple threads already. Why do you expect anyone will reply before your last activity at 3:23pm today?

Dear,

This thread is awesome. Great work .. Makes life so easy :)

I just have a question:

Will at any time we will be asked to produce original documnets ( during landing process or before ) which were uploaded in our eAPR?

"Why i ask this question because i am residing in KSA and i need a PCC from Dubai. The procedure is that i have to do the PCC in saudi and send it to Dubai police but Dubai police retains this PCC Saudi and will give me a PCC Dubai only. So at the end, i will not have the original PCC from Saudi with me but legally i have done it already. Nevertheless, I will surely make relevant translations and scan copy of the original PCC from Saudi and then send it to Dubai Police. I am planning to mention this piece of information in LOE. Do you think this will be an issue? "

Your expert advise please.Thanks

Heloo All. I just COPR recently and planning to land in sep 1st week. I have a doubt on transportation. Is it absolutely necessary to have an automobile to move around without any hassle in Canada. Is it not possible to make do with Uber/lyft for the purpose of moving around in Canada?

It depends which city in Canada. In metro Vancover, you can use translink buses and sky trains. If rural, you need a car or continue walking/cycling.

Hi All,

For POF, can I show a letter from bank with current funds and its equivalent CAD amount along with bank statements?
Also I read in some post that FD's are not acceptable? Is it correct?
I am planning to take 5000 CAD and rest in bank statements?(my req is 23k CAD for family of 4) Will it be ok? Will be on a short visit to just complete my landing formalities.
TIA

Hi All,

My apologies, I will have to re-post my question here since it was not getting definite answers in a separate thread.

I have a question regarding the renewal of passport after the CPR has been issued.

I and my family (Wife and Kid) had applied for Canadian Permanent Residence visa and I have received the Confirmation of PR in March, 2017. Our Passports are also stamped with the TRV which is valid until October 2nd, 2017.

However, my and my spouse's passport was going to expire at the end of October 2017, hence I've went ahead and renewed our passports. I now have the new passports, and the old passports (ones with TRV) stands expired.

Now, can i safely land at the Canadian POE using the following documents:
1. Old, expired passport with Valid TRV
2. CPR which mentions old passport details
3. Valid, new passport which is blank.

http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/resources/manuals/enf/enf04-eng.pdf part 13.15 says that valid visas on expired passports are still valid, but I'm not sure what my situation is since my CPR is tagged to my old passport.

Please help.

Thank you.
