All information above is based on a pdf brochure they have sent me. If you want a copy of the brochure, you can pm me and I will send it to you by email.
I did not choose to stay at the Seneca because it is quite far from downtown and I do not have a vehicle; but if I had a car it would be okay to stay here I guess.

Thanks Quorax anf trina,
I actually found the rcc link through kijiji toronto.
There they list it at $42 per night for a two bedroom suite!

Your information is helpful esepcially since I did not see parking rates and housekeeping information.

Yes, I suppose one has to book it in advance, though site does not mention it.
That is something to think about when one plans for a month ???
Hoping it is realible to go via their website.

The Original Post of this thread has the Short Stay Accom options. Have a look there first. Mississauga & Brampton have Super8, Studio6, Best Western & Motel8. All the above r good options for a cheap & comfortable short stay.

Good Short Stay Option

Hi all,

In the last couple of days I visited the following Short Stay options to check out for my friend's forthcoming landing:

-Motel6
-Studio6
-Derry Guest House
-SafeHomeStay
-Best Western Hotel
-Holiday Inn Express

All r similarly priced (little here-n-there), except the last 2 hotels.

A. I'd suggest everyone to go for Motel6. It's way better organized, value for money than the others.
B. In the Hotels, Holiday Inn Express is better than Best Western.
C. Do not go to Derry Guest House, unless u must want to be in Downtown Toronto.
D. SafeHomeStay is well managed by the Twin Elderly Couples. Its the Cheapest among all. -Not bad too.
E. I've booked my friend for Motel6.

I have landed with family on June 16th. Staying in safehomestay at Lockmere Terrace, North york. i have liked the place and have no hesitation to recommend to others.
I didn't stay at SafeHomeStay, but I've visited them & found the managing couples (Senior Ppl) very nice. The place was neat & clean. There were families residing as well. BabuTV above certified the accommodation.

Lately I happened to visit the Super8 Motel as well, 'coz I had to meet someone. Found it Ok too, but in similar properties I'd suggest Motel6.

Quick question on landing wonder if anyone knows. My wife and I are currently in the process of applying under the Federal Skilled Workers class, with her as the principal applicant.

I know when landing to validate the VISA the principal applicant has to land first, and I may accompany her. However after validating the visas we'd probably return to the UK to sort out the sale of our house etc, and the plan would be one of us would go over to Canada, secure a job, and then the other one would follow after the house sale had gone through.

After initially landing in Canada to validate the PR visa, does it matter which one of you physically takes us residence first? May the spouse (not the PA) go over first? I know after validating the visa you have in theory up to 3 years to take up residence (since you have to be resident in Canada 2 years out of every 5 to keep up the visa).

We're probably not looking to get to this stage until at least early next year, but would be nice to get an idea up front.

Thanks for any advice,
Wayne.

Hi Wayne,

Actually a good question. The answer is, it doesn't matter who returns here, post landing. 'Coz, once u land, the Record of Landing formality stands completed. Hereon, both r Landed PRs. Have their individual battles to win, irrespective of the fact that it's a family unit.

Post landing, each has to maintain his/her residency requirements (the 2/5 rule) individually. So, anyone of u can return & take-up a house, job & other amenities for the family's settlement. In fact it's a wise option too, one that u have enumerated. One does the settlement here, while the other closes up the issues in homeland.

Good luck!

Hi, yeah the general plan post-landing is that we both return to the UK to sort some affairs out, and the idea with one of us coming over first is that at least one of us is employed at any one point in time!

Since I am a software developer/engineer, and my wife's occupation as an industrial pharmacist is somewhat more specialised, it will probably be easier for me to find employment than my wife, hence the idea that I travel over first, get a job and sort accomodation, and then she will follow a month or two later after the house is sold etc.

Anyway this is very useful advice, thanks :)
Wayne.

No taxes. It's only that the interest accrued over the principal that rests in a Bank A/c will attract TDS. Everytime u wire-in funds, the bank shall inform Fintrac.
