Besides, your AV eqpt won't work as well... the NTSC-PAL format issue would play a spoil-sport !bsrk68 said:Nope. You could use a step-up transformer, but the performance is never the same. Don't bring any appliances , they are not expensive here.

The TV also needs to be equipped with an ATSC tuner for off air reception (unless you are buying a conversion box).qorax said:Besides, your AV eqpt won't work as well... the NTSC-PAL format issue would play a spoil-sport !

I don't agree. Appliances you find at home doesn't mean you can also find in Canada (especially in smaller cities).bsrk68 said:Nope. You could use a step-up transformer, but the performance is never the same. Don't bring any appliances , they are not expensive here.

This domain has changed to http://www.immigrationexperience.ca/ Unfortunately I lost the domain and I had to buy a new one.Deeaar said:Dear Friends,
To all the aspiring members and to all those who have already landed, kindly go through the site below.
I have always followed this site and it is quite informative too, something similar to this one . Also look and interact with a guy called Nabil, he is quite informative and helpful.

I agree. Sometimes online shopping (especially those in your home country) can be much cheaper than Canadian retailers. Yesterday I saw a Halloween toy and the retail price in Canada is $11.99, while price in US is just $6.99. So much cheaper!Baloo said:Online shopping ??
I haven't lived in Toronto for a long while. But in Vancouver, I can't find similar size slow simmer/stew cooker, so I brought one with transformer from my previous country of residence. The overall performance is the same.bsrk68 said:I presumed this member would be landing in Toronto. Can u tell me which appliances are available back home and not here?
