I live in Calgary. I still back what I posted above (Also there are so many fact, reports around on this with solid facts. One of them http://www.atb.com/SiteCollectionDocuments/About/Alberta-Economic-Outlook-Q2-2015.pdf)
So in my opinion, it can be challenging to find a job in general, atleast compared to the past . However that doesn't mean the chances are zero. Some of the people got laid off that I know are still looking for work (especially professional jobs).
On a positive note, the rental fees have started to decrease. It's very evident if you check kijiji. This can be due to the migration out of Calgary.
Thank you indeed it is a very detailed report.
finding a job will be difficult all over canada... ihear if you go to Toronto many jobs are available but also a lot of people are looking for jobs and the competition is very high among job seekers
Ottawa a little laid back but not sure about how he job market fr ITL an IT suff.
Calgary was great but now with the lower oil prices it bad... but if the prices come back it will be great as many openings will come back and the opportunities are higher.
question: if I land in calgary and i start to apply for jobs all over canada ottawa and toronoto will I will get calls and requests for interview if I live in calgary? any exereince with that
I I compare the 3 cities
Calgary
Positive: The best city for living as per my standards,
If Oil prices go back I will hae better opportunities as all laid off positions will need ot be filled again
rents are going down
negative:very bad job market, very difficult to find jobs
Toronto:
Positive :Many open positions
negative:lower standards than calgary in terms of traffic
high job hunting competing
Ottawa:
is in between both of them I guess,
any suggestion to ad to compare.
