Hi ss

It really depends on what area and kind of house you rent
Not many apartment buildings in Burlington
If you are looking for budget 1-2 bedroom apartments you are better off looking in Milton/Mississauga or someone in Burlington who will sublet part of their houses
Most properties we came across were 1400 CAD+ per month
Hope this helps

Its a small city with a population of 175k+
And yes it is a suburb
But if you go with the mindset of I'll do whatever it takes you can find something to do anywhere :)
We are moving there in August so I'll keep you posted of how things are going

Hi,

Here is the link where you can find the complete list :

Top Big city : Calgary ....................Vancouver at the bottom

Top Mid sized city :Burlington

However ,I do believe ,for newly landed immigrants ,the thing which matters the most is the availability of sufficent number of jobs.Keeping that criteria in mind ,Calgary or atleast Alberta might be the best option.

All the best!

Hello everyone,

We will be landing in Aug/Sep this year InshaAllah.

And based on my all research to date (specifically for our family circumstances) our preference for landing is in Toronto against Edmonton or Calgary.

Good luck & be in touch.

@ Phdmaker, could you kindly explain why you chose Toronto over Alberta?

Hi there,

Actually we will be accompanying two children with us (4y & 10m old) & my colleague in Edmonton suggested me to try to settle first in Toronto as weather is very harsh in Edmonton & social life is almost zero in 6-8 months of winters (sometimes temperature falls to -40 C). Further, our relatives live in Brampton & in Toronto GTA.

Edmonton is cheaper to live, more job opportunities but Toronto & its suburbs have their own charm like of diversity, lots of survival job, close to US etc. If u can live in basements then cost of living almost comes equal to that in Edmonton (except transportation cost which is higher in Ontario).

Pray for everyone's success.

Take care.
