SO recently completed landing at YYZ first time landing via Spousal sponsorship, She had a list with names and value filled out on the form we got from the cic website.
Officer looked at the form and commented the jewelry is not detailed enough even though we had pictures. He did not stamp anything and just told SO to come whenever and have a more detailed list. Did we just get a case of a lazy agent or is this somewhat normal? We plan on going back in 2-3 days but worried we didn't screw up the landing procedure. She will have significant items coming in at a later date so concerned they don't just deny her as nothing was officially stamped. Any advice?

Does she have excessive amounts of jewelry or something? :P What kind of extra details do they require? Monetary value? I'm curious since we'll be in the same situation in a few months.
I can't imagine you've screwed anything up. Just need to satisfy them with the required information (whatever that is).

I haven't done it yet, but I have photos and written, formal valuations by a proper jeweller with recognisable descriptions. For example:

'Jewellery: Ladies 'tree bark' 18k gold wedding ring - photo and written valuation attached'

Not sure what else I can do!
