My timeline as follows: Application submitted on early August 2007,
AOR received sometime between Oct/Nov 2007
Submitted next of kin relationship document on March 2008
Scheduled for an interview in Buffalo on June 11,2008
Received documents requesting for medical checkup and police certificiate after interview June11, 2008
Submitted medical checkup on 3 July, 2008
Submitted Police certificate on 11 July, 2008
Passport requested : 07 Jan 2009
Landing Procedures: Overall, it only took 10-15 mins Perhaps i am the sole applicant without tagging any family members along
Just show officer the immigration visa on the passport and the CPR (confirmation of permanent residence)
Then, the officer will take sometime verify the information on the CRP and ask a couple of questions
(e.g. do you any illness; criminal record during the past few months..etc.
At a later stage, they are supposed to help you to fill in a form to apply for a PR Card; but in my case
i dont have a fix residential address where they can mail the card to me...so the office gave me a form
where i can apply at a later stage.
As for the proof of funds, the officer didnt brother to ask or forgotten to ask..
After that, it all good to clear the immigration custom..and prepare a brand new life in vancouver
