LANDED..........

Hi All,
I finally did my landing yesterday. The process was very smooth. Just providing details to other members of the forum so that they can have a handy detail of things to consider while landing.
1. If possible land before 6pm as you will be able to complete all the procedure in one go. I took Air canada from US to Toronto YYZ. Landed in Terminal 1 around 12 PM. There were people before me in line, so took a while to get my turn with the CBSA officer.
2. Unlike others in the forum, i did not have to use a Kiosk. In the flight they gave us declaration form. Had filled it up. Do not forget to say yes to "Unaccompanied Goods" section in the declaration form if you are planning on getting goods from your home country at a later date.
3. Upon landing and entering the airport showed the declaration form and the passport to the officer. He marked the declaration form with a big "Z" and directed me to the immigration office.
3. Upon my turn, the immigration officer asked me for my Copr and passport. Asked the mandatory questions such as have you been arrested etc etc. After that asked me to sign both the copies of Copr. Kept the one with photograph himself and gave me the other copy. Asked me to keep it safe as it is an important document.Since i had prefilled the address of toronto in the declaration form, did not ask me address for sending my PR card. These days PR processing has reduced a lot, officer said i will receive it within 3-4 weeks.
4. I asked about getting stamp for my goods to follow document and he said that will happen once i collect my baggage.
5. Returned my Copr and passport and welcomed to canada. Directed me to the Service Canada office which is right behind the immigration office.
6. Filled a form in the service canada office and got my SIN number in like half hour.
7. Collected my baggage and went to the customs officers waiting at the exit. You have to mention that you have accompanying goods and GTF document else they will just let you go.
8. As i informed them that i have GTF document that needs to be stamped, was directed to another office inside the terminal.
9. I had followed the posts in this forum that details on filling the forms for GTF and Accompanying goods and it went smooth.
10. Since i had written all the items in an excel and taken a printout, officer was very impressed and stamped it in like minutes.
11. Had photographs of all the jewelries so that helped in speeding up the process.

Hope this post help others in a smooth processing of their PR.

Hello guys,
I wanted to share my landing experience I just did on Thursday 28th Nov 2019.
Me and my family took a flight from Abu Dhabi to Toronto -14 hrs-. We landed around 3pm in Toronto Pearson. 2 adults + 3 kids.
After the regular immigration checks where you scan your passport in a machine and it will print a piece of paper and right before going to baggage claim there will be an officer who will take that piece of paper and make a huge X on it and he/she will direct you to the new immigrants section. Nothing to worry. Normal stuff. The queue was around 30min long in that section. However, an officer mentioned that the queue depends on the time and flight and that is usually few people there so it is usually quick and smooth. There were 6 officers available for these processes for new immigrants. If you are traveling with kids be aware that they will not skip the queue for you and there are no chairs in this section. There is a sitting section in a side where moms and kids can wait meanwhile the dad stands in the queue. The mom is only required at the end of the process for signatures. That's it. There are translators BTW in case needed but I only saw chinese ones.
When it is your time the officer calls you. I saw all of them very friendly with everyone and the entire process is very smooth. The officer who called just asked for passports, COPR papers, the paper with the huge X and nothing else. In the meantime he types some stuff in the system he will ask you how much money you carry, where you are staying, address to send the PR, family members and of course the mandatory questions if you have ever been convicted or any drugs or refused entry to any country etc etc. They don't care where you will send the PR or if you live there. They only tell you that should be someone you trust because it is an important document. Neither they ask if you are coming to stay in Canada or you are planning to come later on. They don't care. They mind that the info you are giving is true and that you don't carry anything you shouldnt. I saw a gentleman who was asked to give his phone and the officer checked on it in front of him and asked him questions. Overall it took me around 20 min to finish that process. As I said all the officers very nice to the people. At the end you will sign the copy of the COPR. They will keep the copy with the pic and you keep the other one with no pic. After that just next to these officers quibicles you can get your SIN. Just few steps away. Very simple process. They just ask your flight info, mother and fathers name and the address where you will stay (it doesn't have to be the same you gave for the PR).Getting the SIN takes literally 5 min. Maybe more depending on how many people are waiting.
After that just go to baggage claim and you are done. From the plane landing to getting the baggage was around 1.5 hours. Your baggage will be there so no worries.
Few recomendations:
Try to land before 4pm so you can do everything in one go. PR + SIN.
Be straighy forward and honest with the officer. Don't try to hide anything. It is not necessary and the officers will tell. They do this hundreds of time per day so they know quickly when something is fishy.
Keep all the info handy. COPR, passports, address, etc..
Your jacket of course because to get a taxi there is a small queue outside.
Landing with kids is a headache. Make sure you have plenty of toys and cookies to keep them occupied.
The best of luck to everyone.
