May i ask few questions:-

1) When Clasess are going to start after summer? Is it from September or October
2) What about the TD Canada Trust Bank? is it available in Calgary?
3) Which Area do you recommend for new commer?

The good part, which i noticed is. MASHALLAH you're settled in 1 year. any tips you want to give?? because its bit scary for me to leave good job and starting from the strach. please advise and help.

Hi, Same here i came back to Bahrain and deciding to move by this year. September or October maximum

At present i'm 6221; working in Japanese company. However, in AB there are many opportunities in AB because of Oil fields and engineering companies are there.

Regarding medical card, we will be eligible upon landing. Because that' ON process to wait for 3 months, AB is totally different.
hope this will answer your question. let me know if you require any further details.

Salams Saf and ItsBeen...

Yea - Saf is right. AB and ON are two different provinces with different tax laws, health care and many stuff.

AB is generally better - lesser people - Calgary is not crowded as Toronto, taxes are less in AB (5%, while in ON its 13% on everything!). Plus - your car's gas is lot cheaper in AB.

If you have some oil and gas experience - or something which you can relate - that will be just awesome!! You can earn a lot.

Or if you have enough money to survive 1 yr without job, i will seriously recommend you to get into a college or university for an advanced diploma (provided, you have already done bachelors!) and get a Canadian Certificate. This will show employers that you are fully adaptable and competitive in Canadian work force. Plus, i know you guys can speak good english - but if you enroll in a college and speak regularly with locals you will gain some language skills which counts a lot in every job here.

Anyways, keep checking your opportunities on www.workopolis.com or at Linkedin.com and see what kind of jobs are available in ON and AB.

All the best guys.

I wont sujjest you to live 1 year on your saving and spending money in fees.

Plz get some job (even its part time ) for you expenses.
Plus lot of employers pays your tuition fees once you work there for a year.

Living will cost you min approx 2000$/month , so you can imagine that if you add collage fees on that then at end of year you will loose approx 35-40 k from your savings.

Best to get settle. Find some job and then think what need to done next.

I totally agree with Aquib, because this is basic requirement that you've to bring enough money to survive for atleast 6 months.
so, better to save your money initially and once you get the good job then its good time to study in Canada.......

But one thing i want to add here, its really very difficult to leave your home country if you are well settle there. like me, i'm doing very good in Bahrain already out of my home town but just for kids i've to take this decision. Friends, please help me to take this brave decision.

Try to get flight which allow you max baggage and low fair ,
Try to bring cloths, house hold/kitchen stuff etc , so check airline if they give you extra 1-2 bag for 50-80$ extra , as some airline charge low and some charge high for extra baggage .
Do bring all medicines. And food stuff etc.Bring all garam masala , haldi, mirchi , Kali mirich, Tea , coffee , extra bed sheets , duvet covers, pillow covers , warm heavy jackets, extra mufler , glowes , etc. Just for eg.
Thank you for your good work and help Aquib. I completed my landing Feb last year and moving permanently next month. I recall I had to fill in a form for the customs if I was carrying any spices / seeds and stuff like that. I heard they detest such stuff. Are you sure if it is okay to ship those spices?
