LANDED..........
23-07-2016
So I landed at Peace Bridge, Buffalo/Fort Eerie yesterday on July 23, 2016. It was smooth and effortless. I have a us visa, so initially me and my friend decided to drive to New York city on weekend. We crossed through Rainbow at 8.30 in the morning, it was like 15 minutes wait on the border, drove to Niagara city on other side, had breakfast and changed plans of driving to NYC. So we did some sightseeing, some photography, saw Buffalo city and reached Peace bridge around 3.30 pm, again there was 15-20 minutes lineup. When at checkpost, I told the officer that am here for landing. She asked when you drove out and if you have you done any shopping or have any alcohol or tobacco on you and how much cash am carrying. Answered that and than she gave a yellow slip and asked to park and go into the building. She also told there is a bit of hold up in immigration , so be prepared to wait. I was like oh we in for a big wait. So when inside, I saw a couple and a family waiting, I went to the counter, the officer took the yellow slip and passport and told me to wait for my name to be called. Within next 10 minutes the family and the couple were out already and after 5 minutes more another officer called my name. I went there, he was nice and jolly , asked me for COPR and that if I have read everything in there. Than he asked if I have any goods to follow, I said none.He told me to initial all the points and sign both copies. Meanwhile he asked if I have POF on me, I said I have the pay-stubs, you wanna see? He said no, thats fine. and thats it, He said you are now a Canadian PR, any questions or concerns? I just inquired if I can go to states with COPR, he said of-course if you drive your vehicle. and thats it, 15 minutes and I was out.

Now about the question, Sorry if already posted, but couldn`t find the topic....
So I have a temp. SIN, starting with 9 and OHIP as well, do I apply for new ones right now or wait for PR card to arrive ??

Thanks in advance.

Congrats on PR:)

No you don't need to wait for pr card
You can renew sin and health card with copr. We just did that last week

Congrats!

Can we use COPR to make road trips to the US?
If Yes, For this purpose can we use a rental ?

Thanks in advance. ;)

Congrats! :) I did the same thing, went to Buffalo for a day and landed at Peace Bridge. I wasn't asked about PoF though.

Yes and yes, but you will still need a US visa in case your passport is not visa-exempt in the US. It will be relatively easier applying with a CoPR.
