Any idea if its possible for the principle applicant to land in Canada first, while spouse and children would land on a later date?
Comments would be appreciated.

Yes it is possible. But please be aware that your and your dependents visa will expire exactly a year from the date of medical. So your dependents have to come to Canada before the expiry of the visa.

More comments from seniors please!! Faizq's input is in aggreement with my thoughts but I don't want to go by the wrong assumptions and get things complicated after years of waiting.

Faziq is right, you can land alone and they can come later - the rule is principle applicant need to land first and the dependents can follow - that's a good reminder that you need to understand that each visa is individual, if you complete the landing doesn't mean the dependents can land any time, they have to follow the visa expiry date and within that time frame they can land anytime, but after that their visa will expire and they cannot land even though you will be a PR in Canada.

How about the funds, do the principal applicant have to take the whole funds including for the dependents while he/she is landing or he can show just the required amount for a single person. If the principal applicant has to show the full amount, do the dependents does not need to show again.

Requires proof of funds for whole family and the dependents don't

does that mean that one has to carry the whole amount even though only one person is landing.
