Landing at Vancouver airport and returning back to US same night

Hi All,

Here is my story,
My wife is currently on H1 visa and I'm on H4 visa. We are planning to do landing in Vancouver in the next couple of weeks as we have to do our landing before 3rd Jan. Considering the fact that we have a 2 year kid and it is 2.5 hrs flight from our place SFO.
And I want go back to Canada at a later stage most likely Toronto since it has huge IT job opportunities.

Does VYR airport issue SIN number at the airport?
I do not have a California license yet, I used to have a US license many years back and it got expired
However I have my Indian driving license and IDP to travel in Vancouver, Can I use IDP to get a rental car?
Also, can I provide my friends address in Toronto as my temporary address? I will move back to his address later next year.

You have to go to the Service Canada office to apply for your SIN number. You can check with AEIP or CIIP (Pre-Arrival settlement services) if you have more questions
