Hi, can anybody share their experience with landing at the CIC office. What should I expect?

I am suppose to land soon. It was an outland family class sponsorship application. I was sponsored by my husband and I am currently in Canada as a visitor.

Thank you!

Did you already make an appointment at a local CIC office? Usually it takes several weeks or even months to get a landing appt.

With outland apps you also have the option to take your COPR to nearest USA land border, and do the PR landing instantly.

But if you do at the CIC office, all they will do is ask if any of your family info has changed, what your address is to send your PR card to, and if you have goods that you'll be importing later. And that should pretty much be it.

Yes, it was a two weeks wait for them to let me know that i'll be having an interview within an additional week. So three weeks altogether.

Have you have experience landing at the office yourself, or that is what you know from other people's experience. So, it's just a formality, they won't be getting into questions about my marriage, finances and such? I just want to be prepared...

My wife did her outland landing at a US land border. But the process is basically the same whether at a border crossing or at CIC office. You are already approved for PR so there is no more investigation into your relationship or finances. They may ask if anything regarding your family situation has changed (like if you had a child that wasn't declared during processing) but that should be about it. The landing is more a formality to officially become a PR and confirm an address they will send PR card to.

Note that for inland landings done at CIC office, often the officer will ask for proof of cohabitation in Canada. This shouldn't be required for outland landings but it might be good to have something that shows you live at the same address just in case (like a recent bank statement, drivers license, etc).
