Landing at Airport: Time needed for official formalities

Hi, I was over here for 6 months last year, i recieved my confirmation of permanent residence at the end of april 2012, i flew over 2 weeks later and got the same man at immigratin as before, and he recognised his stamp in my passport, i must have been there oh at least a good 5 minutes and he wished me well in my new life here in Canada so i think it just depends,hope this helps

It took me about 20 minutes at YVR. I landed on a Tuesday morning, and I'm just by my self, no kids, no partner. I only had two luggages and I had filled out all the proper forms.

My advise is to choose a day and time that's not busy....avoid weekends, rush hours, etc.

i hear that it takes 5-15 mins at immigration section for a new immigrant...

The actual processing takes no time at all, it was the queuing that took so long for my fiancé
