Landing as a Provincial Nominee

Good morning,

My sister got an approved PR as a Provincial Nominee in BC. She is flying to Vancouver via Montreal, and will have to go through the landing procedures in Montreal (YUL). Does anyone have experience landing in Montreal, while destined to another province as a provincial nominee? I saw on one site that if you arrive via PNP you can only land in your destination province, but this seems strange if your flight connection requires you to go through the procedures in the first port of entry.

Thanks!

Whoever told you that is an idiot and you should not pay attention to that website. How dumb are these people? Please apply some common sense. There are no direct flights to SK, YT, NWT, NL & MB etc. from most overseas countries. So how on earth do people settle in those provinces? Teleportation?

Showing your onward flight destination/details of your lease/accommodation/job in your nominated province is fine. You're allowed to stop over in other provinces to land or for whatever reason (including because the airfares were better or to visit a friend for a few days), it is part of your utterly basic right to mobility as a permanent resident. What you do have to prove is your genuine intention to reside in the province that nominated as you - so be sure to bring that.

There's no issue performing the landing procedures in a different province as long as you have an onward flight to the nominating province and provide an address for the mailing of the PR card that's in the nominating province. Tons of people have done this.

Yes, she has to complete landing formalities in Montreal since this is her first point of entry into Canada.
