Landing and Canada First Days Questions

Hi,

I have some landing questions. I was hoping someone could shed a light on them for me :)

1. I have read that it is recommended to bring medical records, dental records with me. Are these really required?

2. Another document is "Reference letters from previous and current employers" Can I bring what I already have for my express entry application? Or do I need to get up-to-date ones?

3. I am landing with my dependant (my wife). Is reporting for more than C$10,000 requirement for each person? Can we presumable bring 9,000 each without having to report?

4. Do I need to bring police certificates?

5. We are planning to live in Toronto. Do we need to get a International Driver's License?

6. I have also read that in Ontario, we won't be covered for health for around 3 months. Therefore, we were planning to get insurance for this period. Are we supposed to get "travel insurance"?

Thanks everyone in advance :)

1. Not required
2. Not required
3. Yes, each person, just bring $9,000
4. No.
5. Yes, but just for temporary, you can apply for Ontario driver's license as soon as you arrive there, please follow the link below how to get driver's license,
https://www.ontario.ca/page/get-g-drivers-licence-new-drivers

6. I would suggest purchase private health insurance for the 3 months that you are not covered by OHIP (Health Card), or if you are not eligible for OHIP.

Note, you can bring all documents which you have been submitted in the application when you applied PR. Just in case,,,

Anyway welcome to Canada:)

thank you very much for your answers. I just wanted to show the source I was referring to when I mentioned the landing documents. Do you think I still don't need these docs?

Typically, the office would not require those kind of documents during landing process, however, it's not worth the risk, why don't you carry them to Canada? Just to be on safe side, It is not too heavy at all. :D

Keep in my, this is you final stage in order to become official PR.

All the best
