Landing 2 days before visa expiration, who did it?

Hi,
I've received PPR and now my passports are being stamped. CIC account shows the visa numbers and they are valid up until January 19th.
Right now there's an option to book a cheap flight to Toronto on Jan 17th (only 2 days before visas expire), but there are 2 catches:

1. we don't have our passports on hands yet. So the question is, can I trust the CIC account info?
2. is it safe to plan landing 2 days before the visas expire? The flight is scheduled to land on 17th, 9PM

Any help or insight would be highly appreciated

1) The letter in CIC account should reflect the same date as per passport visa expiry.
2) No harm in landing until the last day (and thats what a date is for)

However personally my question is.. in order to achieve one of your dream, do you need to wait for a very cheap flight to avoid any last minute risk (such as if some situation comes that you cannot travel on that date)
In that case, the visa will expire. Personally my suggestion is, travel a month before - so that in case if we postpone travel also we will have time.
