It all depends on how long is the validity of the visas of your family members. It is will soon expire , you better come with them and validate their visas before it expires. looking for a job takes some time so you better be careful. i landed tried looking for job in my field could not get one and decided to do a short course for 4 months and immediately i graduated i got a job right away. So they way you think is not what will happen. It depends on the city you are also going to land in. I am in Calgary and like it here.
