Hello house, I am landing in a couple of days but need your candid advice. I have loads of naija food stuffs I am taking along, do I need to declare this to customs at the airport on my list of goods accompanying me? Secondly? I have checked the canada border services agency website and there is no where it is stated that fish and crayfish is prohibited, can anyone second me on this?.....

Hi, got your pm, though I don't have the official link, I heard from several sources that fish is not prohibited but don't carry the ones with maggot!!!, pls check very well and ensure the fishes very dry. I did not declare item by item and I don't think you should, the landing process is usually smoother than imagined, I really do not see the need for item by item listing.

Please declare all money even the one not accompanying you, cause it's safer to say I have 100, but bringing in 40 now than to say I have 40 and I now bring in 100 later!!!. Please friends seek expert advise before filling tax returns( I don't mean friends and relatives) talk to the tax experts and you would be guided accordingly don't because of 200 dollars saving lose thousands of dollars in the future!!!

Please I will like to ask the following questions in preparation for my FSWP 2014 application:

1. Do I need to include self- addressed envelope in my application for any correspondent from CIC?
2. Instead of using the conventional white envelop with NIPOST stamp, can I use the UPS or FEDEX as my self-addressed envelop?
3. How many self-addressed envelop should I include?

Hi all,
Contrary to many expressed opinions here, we got our flight tickets through IOM in naija within 1 week (amazing enh). This may not be the general experience but it also means that it is possible, if you have God working on your case ;D. The lady at the office had actually told my husband that we required at least 3 weeks notice and that getting it within a week was 'impossible', but he persevered and pressed her to at least try. so I encourage anyone pressed for time to not give up but at least give it a try. worst case scenario is that you don't get it, but what if you do?

and to concur with omo naija, we were given change ;D ;D

The IOM process is by far the best option. we paid about 920k for a family of 5, as against the regular airline fare of 1.7M which we were given (and this was the cheapest ticket o). This kinda discount is sure sweet and the more money you can conserve, the better for you. On top of this, we got free chaperone duty at Germany ;D

I think the problem is the Nigerian element, the boss, boss thing!!! about Nigerians. I believe most times the ticket is ready but they are just going through our usual long protocol in naija. In our case, the ticket had been ready for 2 days (so it only took about 5 days) but they were still telling us it was not ready. We had to press and cajole them to at least call accra to confirm before they reluctantly did and found out it was ready.
So pls dont give up!
