May be we need to be in Canada to discover how it may sometimes be hard to sit around the Notebook or ipad to post anything.

It appears things are in a different shape out there and the luxury of time we have here is not at their disposal.

One of the Landed Senoritas once said we should send PM. So lets explore that too.

We need the thread, they don't need it anymore. This is the hard fact.

But, if we compare folks like Qorax and the rest, the fight will rage on. The circumstances of all are different.

Having said that, lots and lots of the landed seniors are wonderful if we will connect with them. Getting t dissolve with them in their natural environment.

We can book appointment, call, e-mail if we have to.

For those who could afford posting, please keep shooting.

Cheers

Your best bet is to PM a landed Nigerian. Even those who were a bit upset with us while in Nigeria have landed and seen how difficult it is to keep posting. It is not cos one is feeling to big. Those who PM me receive replies within 2 days at least. Also some enquiries don't have straight answers, it's more of a 'land first and see' issue.

All the best to those preparing to land.

Very correct, DOB it is. Children in Ontario start full-time school in September of the year in which they are six years old (Grade 1); Not sure but it is probably the same throughout Canada

Your 8 year old daughter will join grade 3 in Feb/March 2013 while her sister (currently 6 y.o.) will be in grade 1. This is how it is and some people plan child birth in N. America taking the school year into consideration.

Make sure to prepare their minds so they don't get upset with the system.

Got some time to put some notes here today, waiting till you have the PR visa before planning is an excellent recipe for failure. Success is achieved when preparation meets opportunity.

This link offers some encouragement if you are landing and knows nobody in Toronto, some of us have been there, done that..it is an old, locked thread from another super active forum.

This second link provide answers to some common questions, a whole lot to pick up when you read through. Good to compare notes with whatever information you may have gathered from somewhere else. You will also read about the story of the owner of the site, quite inspiring!

Thanks for your response at least I know where to start from. It will be tough getting the kids to understand but would try my best. My baby that is currently 6 and would be seven in November just started grade 3 here last week and if she is asked to go to grade 1 then I can imagine her reaction but I would start letting them know ahead of time and I believe it will ultimately make them better pupils.

Cheers.
