It is still rumour to me but there is always an iota of truth in every rumour. But if the rumour turns to be true, It will not be a permanent freeze but to clear the backlogs. Anybody in the process of submitting fresh application should continue to warm up till when the lift will be announced, hopefully it will not come with another twisting. ON PPR- Please what document or forms do I/spouse need to fill and submit again when going for visa collection.
I have started making preparation here for the journey. Is it
a- Additional family information?
b-Background declaration?
c- Economic class form

Please if you know, do share .If I receive my PPR on Saturday, I will be there the next Monday.

When you get PPR, you will be informed of what forms to fill.
In my case, I was asked to fill only one page form - Personal details of the people included in my application. Things like height and colours of eyes. The height was important because the children increased in height slightly.

Meanwhile, you cannot go to Accra on monday because it is a public day for Canadians.

@ gel003, generally Canadians prefer Canadian credentials. That's as far as I know but maybe someone else has more info on this.

How is life with you , hope you are adapting to Canadian system. I have got MR on 26th April, I did it on 15th May it as received in France on 21st May 2012

My people,

what can i say we waited, waited, waited and waited.............and finally it came. Got MR today. This journey started in April 2010 and today marked a significant step closer to the destination i give God all the praise.

My vote of thanks is very long but i would try and make it brief, i start by thanking Ma Ig who has make this thread possible for it has added so much value to the whole process, my fellow M1 applicant who kept urging me on even when it seems Accra would never answer, landed seniors with invaluable advise here and there, M2 and M3 applicant who have added new vibes to the thread and even our silent followers thanks to you all.

Dear All,

I got an offer from alfredfurnishedapartment.ca. It a one bed apartment on Weston road, as a new immigrant, we are landing sometimes next week, can you confirm the safety and accessibility to transport and major facility, if I decide to stay on Weston road, in Toronto

I got a quote of 1,090 dollars for three weeks, apartment is fully furnished, with Internet and all bills paid,is this the average price

I have done my medical May 15th 2012, I am expecting PPR , I intend to stay in Newfoundland and Labrador because my wife as a nurse started her registration there and has got interim license to work pending the time she gets full registration. That is the factor motivating me to stay in that place. I want somebody in on this thread to advice me if the weather is not bad. Job opportunity for nurse and for me as accountant.

Hello,

In Canada, midwifery profession is different from the nursing profession. You do not have a bachelors degree. Hence, I am pretty sure they will not register you as a registered nurse. You will be registered as a practical nurse and if you want to become a RN, you can join the program at York University to get your degree. You can still apply for the RN if you like (although its more expensive), but CNO will reply you with an offer for RPN and most likely refer you to the York University Program. Unless your 3 year and 2 year education, you got a degree, which included education in nursing research, nursing leadership and theoretical perspective in nursing.

As I previously said, midwifery is a different profession in Canada. You may want to contact the college of midwives to know what they say about your preparation too. I dont know much about internationally educated midwives

Either way, contact the college of nurses of ontario to verify what I have said as things change often and they have the final say.

Bros, Congrats for your visa. I no know say the thing don reach your hand. I am happy for you after the huge delay in receiving PER (AOR).
There seems to be a lot of our people in Calgary. I hope you get some useful info from them.

I am not a nurse and don't have any idea about nursing.
However, why can't your wife apply to other provinces as well for her nursing registration?
If the costs of registration is not prohibitive, I advise that she also tries two or more provinces if their are no legal restrictions for doing so.

You also may want to factor the address you will provide to receive your PR Card in the choice of the initial accommodation. so firm up on where you'll likely stay for more than 8 weeks or thereabout depending on when the card comes in.
