Compliments of the season! a quick question, I hope to land by the end of March, I have friends in Halifax and Mississauga, but still at a loss as to where to settle, I am hoping to get useful info from landed seniors here that can aid my decision.(what is your area of speciality?)
I will really appreciate responses relating to affordable quality of living, schools for children, security, tax rates, weather and proximity to the Airport. (Your ability or better put, your chances of getting jobs in your area of skill will ultimately drive this choice)
Thanks a lot

chevchenko said:Hello Guys,
Thanks a lot EMO, I'm an Accountant with CGA designation, currently working on my Phd in Finance, I have over 12 years Oil & Gas finance experience here in Nigeria.
I mentioned proximity to the Airport because of the children, I dont want to land and start travelling another 4/5 hrs before getting to my destination.
Thank you
Chev
Though not yet landed but I read on the thread that most oil and gas jobs are in Alberta so if you plan to continue in that sector you might as well consider Calgary or any other city in Alberta. As per cost of living I advise you go thru threads with similar topics so you can read thru and get a feel. I don't remember us having such a discussion on this Thread but I have seen topics like cost of living in Calgary and in Ontario so I advise you make a little research
All the best
Lots of information added guystinuadeadebola said:Che
Mississauga in in Ontario but I hear the city is very competitive hence you have to weigh your options very well. I also plan to land in Mississauga and am an Accountant like you but no oil and gas experience but am going with a positive mind that if Ontario is competitive I am also competiive and would survive and succed there.
Bottom line no one can emphatically tell you what province or city to land as a lot of factors has o be considered.
Cheers
You sure look like one who will do well in either Calgary,Alberta because of your exposure in the O&G sectorchevchenko said:Hello Guys,

Congratulations to you and your family.EMO said:Landed DAMAS Y CABALLEROS
First and foremost I will like to announce that we got our visas yesterday.
EMO is looking for a volunteer that will be willing to pick his five aside team at Calgary International Airport.
A willing person can send me a PM, so that I can detail it in my plan.
Thanks
