I got an offer from alfredfurnishedapartment.ca. It a one bed apartment on Weston road, as a new immigrant, we are landing sometimes next week, can you confirm the safety and accessibility to transport and major facility, if I decide to stay on Weston road, in Toronto

I got a quote of 1,090 dollars for three weeks, apartment is fully furnished, with Internet and all bills paid,is this the average price

I dont stay in Toronto but be careful the area you plan to live.
am not referring to Toronto alone but every part of Canada.
there are some cheap location that crime rate in those location are high.
so please try and do ur research before paying or renting.

Ind_an I guess oluism wants info on a place he intends to stay for the short landing period as in where he can be for a few days/weeks before he finally settle down, remember many people dont have have anyone they can stay with in canada even for the first one week hence his question. If our landed seniors particularly those in toronto could help out.

Thanks for your help, on the accommodation stuff, you can't beleive it, this is our third day in Canada, we landed on the 10th of December, myself and wify. We were out of immigration in less than 10 minutes. We came via BA, spend some few hours inside London, checked on my brother in law, before jetting to Toronto. I cancelled my reservation with Alfred Apartment. Immigration just looked at our passport and COPR document and that was it, they asked of how much we had on us, we told them, they did not check, we got some documents and that was it, we were welcomed to Canada. Saturday was a very cold day, Sunday was even colder. A friend offered to keep us for two days. As I write we have moved to a one bed apartment in Markahm , off Maccowan road. Got SIN and opened bank account, very tired now , will continue tmw.
If you want a driver's licence fast, better come with a waiver from FRSC.

I spoke with seglad 2 days ago and he is making plan to see me this weekend.

My dear people. A friend of mine introduced me to this site and I must confess you guys are wonderful. Seniors, elders, Mas and Pas all protocol observed permit me to be part of this winning team and I hope to be worthy of joining the Landed group pretty soon.
I am a post June 2010 applicant, and received my MR some months ago.
As of the time of receiving the MEDS my wife was 7 months preg. Am a cardiothoracic surgeon and I felt the risk was not really worth it. So I asked ACCRA for a deferment of my wife's Xray exam which they kindly granted. Now my wife has delivered and we are waiting for the baby's Intl passport to be processed here in England. My question is this should my wife go now for her xray exam or wait to do the her xray part with the baby's MR then both baby and Mum can do the meds. {NB- Myself and my son's have all completed our meds while my wife did all her meds but for the xray}.
My seniors I trust your reply will come soon. God bless u all.

I advise you send a personal message shalom so he can guide you since he has passed thru this stage before i mean on the INTL passport aspect particularly if its a naija passport.
