Hello Everyone,
I have been trying to search but could not find the appropriate information.
I landed on 12th December 2017 as a PR. So I am filing 0 income. I had income before that. Do I need to file that?

Also, My wife and daughter came to Canada in Jan 2018. Do I need to file 0 income for my wife for 2017. I am using ufile.ca for filing and it very confusing.

CRA will consider you as non-resident for 2017. If you have no Canadian earnings for 2017 then you will file with 0 income.

You need not file anything for your wife.

Then for Child Benefits do I claim it or my wife?
You can only start claiming child benefit when your child is in Canada. It is not clear whether you did a soft landing or your family has relocated to Canada. No need for your wife to file in 2017 since she had not landed and was not in Canada. You can file for CCB at anytime but you will be required to submit tax and inernationalincome information for both parents for the past year or more from when you are filing.

Thanks for the reply everyone.
However, do I need to put my income when I was not a PR. There is a column for "Foreign sourced income for the part of year you were not a resident of Canada".
Is this a column for returning Canadians or do I need to put my Singapore income before I landed on Dec 12, 2017?
