Hello everyone!

Hope everyone is doing great! This is my first time on this forum.
Just wanted to connect with other people who are trying to immigrate and share their experiences :)

I came to Canada after high school, finished BA , have good language scores and recently landed a job. A couple of months ago met up with an immigration consultant who after a brief assessment told me I have very high chances of immigrating through CEC. The only missing component was a job. I recently got a new position, however, it's hard to determine which category and class it falls under, it's a job with children with disabilities. Previous job (similiar to the current one) falls under a NOC C category, but the current one as I think and heard from other people's experiences can count as a NOC B. I didn't find the title on the CIC website, but remember the immigration consultant saying that it is the duties that are more important.
Is there any other credible way to determine which NOC class my current job falls under? Or will it boil down to how my employer will word the duties section on the employment letter?

I'm just starting my immigration journey, so any help or advise are greatly appreciated! Thanks in advance

Hey buddy, I think what you should do is start by listing your job title and duties below. This will help narrow your options and for people to give you accurate answers. By all means you can go to the Cic website and search for the NOC close to your duties too.

List of Duties and the Title:

A Behavioural Interventionist (BI) works one-on-one with a child implementing an individualized Behavioural Plan of Intervention (BPI). BIs provide this support in collaboration with and under the direction of a qualified Behavioural Consultant. A BI’s job is to teach the child specific program goals as outlined in the BPI in home, school, and/or community settings. Some of the duties that one might responsible for when working as a BI include:

Using teaching methods to target specific program goals as directed by a Behavioural Consultant and implementing teaching programs and other interventions as outlined on the child’s behavioural plan of intervention
Collecting data, monitoring, recording and reviewing client progress with team members
Maintaining an organized environment for intervention; including room organization and proper storage of materials and data sheets
Attending and participating in regularly scheduled team meetings, training sessions, and workshops
Participating in regular videotaping of behavioural intervention sessions with the child, as well as shadow and training sessions with Behavioural Consultants
Responding appropriately to oral and written feedback from the Behavioural Consultants by making necessary changes in order to follow through with suggestions made
Collaborating with team members and liaising with personnel from various agencies and disciplines (e.g., SLP, OT, preschool and elementary school personnel)
Preparing materials as needed for a child’s program

It's such a particular position that it's hard to put under one category.
Again, will appreciate any insight and help ;)
