Land in Canada and Return to India in two weeks, Possible?

Hi everyone,

I have recently joined this group and still going through threads to understand the drill. But before I can do that need a quick help from all you great people out there.

I have got my Visa which will expire in May 2018. Accordingly I am planning to land in Canada in March 2018. But my problem is I can't stay there in Canada for more than two weeks as I am working here in India and planning to permanently move to Canada in Jan 2019.

I want to know is there a way, I can come back without applying for the PR card? Any other document that I can get issues from Canada?

Or Is there a process to start my PR card process and get it delivered to a relative's place?

I am very confused which is the best way out. Please help

If you have a COPR and the PPR stamped on your passport, you can travel to Canada anyime (before the expiry) and stay as long as you want. Also, from what i have read, there is a CIC desk at the airport which will take care of the basics for you like creating SIN etc. PR cards are mostly posted to an address you can mention within Canada (im not sure about how to apply for this though). I guess if you have a friend, he can collect the PR card and send it back to you. You can then use that PR card and travel whenever u want until its expiry.

Thanks Nishant. I think your reply helped me to a certain extent. I am confused to how to enter again if I dont have a PR card. I dont have anyone in Canada who will take pains to receive my PR and send it to India. So if not entering with a PR, then what?

If you dont have a PR card what will you show at the airport when you want to fly to Canada??? from what i have read it takes about 60 days to get your PR card. The only option i can think of is Aramax shop and ship or similar service where your stuff can be sent to a po box and they will then send it to your physical address. However, we need to verify if CIC would be willing to do this.
