Laid off in Quebec on a TWP

Hi all,

I have some questions! If someone would be as kind to help me!

I'm from England, working in Quebec for about 24 months, 2 weeks ago I was laid off (My end date is at the end of March). I have about a year left on my TWP.

The tricky thing is, that I was about to apply for PR through PEQ (I passed my French test with intermediate knowledge).

1) Is there anything I can do to quickly get a new job? Or do I need to go through the LMO process again? How long does that take?
2) Is there any way I can salvage my PR application and get the application sent off before my employment ends? Or is this not allowed?
3) Am I going to have to get a new job, and work for a year again before resubmitting my PR application?

Thanks for the help!

I'll help with your first question. You need a new job offer, new LMO and new work permit. This will likely take a couple of months (LMO processing).

Since you have more than 12 months experience in Canada, if your job is high skilled (NOC 0, A or B), you can look into applying for PR through the Canadian Experience Class:
http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/immigrate/cec/index.asp

If your Quebec PR application was dependent on employer sponsorship (i.e. you had to maintain that job), then I'm afraid that route is no longer an option.

That link you sent specifically says not Quebec :(
That's right, if you want to immigrate to other provinces, then CEC is an option. If your preference is to immigrate to Quebec, then no. You could always start out in another province and at a later point move to Quebec if you really want to.
