The cost may not be the same, don't have the figures for the Yaba place here. Did it almost 3 years ago. Payment for DHL is inclusive, your best bet is to call the two places and get the estimate on phone.

You cannot use the email, there is a medical package (with forms) that will be sent to you by surface mail and should be taken to the physician.

On another note, the Yaba woman used to be rude. I hope she has changed otherwise be very gentle and patient if/when you go there.

All the best.

I don't think this still applies. I know someone who just finished his medicals and used the email sent to him. He did not wait for medical package via surface mail and his medicals has been sent to Accra. Getting anything via physical post has become very unreliable. But if dreamteam chooses to wait, no issues. Congrats dreamteam.

Got a slight problem with my application, I did not declare my new daughter while filling the dependents form, after realising my mistake, I informed cic who told me to send her particulars, they naturally saw that she was born before I submitted my forms and are now asking me to explain why I did not include her originally, I intend telling them the truth, the truth being stupidity, what do you think?

Oh, all well then. Times are changing and it is a better deal if the email could be used; Naija nipost is a nightmare!

Sorry for hijacking this thread but I have only got response here, I applied last year when she was not yet born, so, her name was not on the original forms, when I was asked to refill forms this year, I thought wrongly that she need not be included until after the processing of everything. It was when I went through instructions again after getting medical notification that I realised my mistake, I quickly contacted cic about the status change and was asked to submit her details with the processing fee, I did this and they are now asking me to ckarify. I intend telling them the truth as it was a honest though ignorant mistake, does anybody know how they deal with this?

It's the physician's responsibility, I did mention payment for courier in an earlier post. You can request for tracking number from the physician's reception folks few days after the medical.
Passport pictures or international passports? I believe you meant passport pictures, you need just about 2 each but you should 6 each for whatever. No affidavit is required for any old passport pictures, I changed mine many times at different times including on landing.

All the best.

dreamteam: Your medicals do not go to Accra directly, medicals are forwarded to Regional Medical Officers, and Accra falls under the Paris Regional Medical Office - so your medicals go to Paris for assessment, after which the Meds officer then uploads his assessment of your medicals into your caips file, or fills in a form which is then faxed/e-mailed to Accra visa office. Accra only logs into your caips to see the assessment of the regional medical officer.

It is the responsibility of the DMPs to forward your medicals to the regional office in Paris. Sending it directly to Accra would be futile and just a waste of time, as Accra would still have to send it to Paris for assessment/interpretation. DMPs in Lagos know what to do. As per which of the DMPs to go to, its neither here nor there, folks will only advise you on what they have experienced. I have come across people who have had pleasant reports to give about both, and i'm sure you will come across others who will only have sad tales to tell about the two of them. I am yet to hear of anyone who's had a case of their medical tests being swapped or wrongly done by either of the DMPs in Lagos. Those two have worked for CiC for donkey years, and are subject to regular Audits and checks, so don't see a major problem there.

At this stage, your PR is just at your fingertips barring any unpleasant surprises- touchwood. Commonest issue during medicals is "inactive TB" and probably HIV, and even then in the case of TB - the presence of this does not translate to refusal, only a delay of say 3-4months to allow further tests to be carried out, and sufferers get issued a TB surveillance form to take along to canada.(pls o, i only stated the commonest of the issues that pple have worldover, that isn't your portion)

On the NIPOST thingy- I have seen cases where applicants have done meds without the hardcopy of the med request(in UK), but usually the DMP would not forward the Meds to the regional meds office unless they receive the hardcopy request, and you might have to do Chest xray again if it should be more than a month old before it gets to the RMO in Paris. The example cited by Jada is the first i have come across where the meds have been processed without the hardcopy, things change pretty quickly in CiC, and i'm getting out of date with this canadian stuff...but that's a loophole sha IMO ...lol A simple call to the two DMPs should throw more light on this for you.

Is dreamteam = stretchy? Just wondering; if not, never mind.

My simple advice is this, do them a nice letter explaining what has happened, and provide lots of proofs of your paternity. Things like birth certs(though 9ja BCs don't count for much these days), family photos, several photos showing the baby at different stages of growth, hospital receipts, depending on which country u had the baby - u can show med records(redbook in UK), wifey's ante-natal records etc and anything else you can think of. If you have any evidence of taking paternity leave around this period - show them your employer's approval, ditto wifey.

You may conclude the letter by saying you are ready and able to subject yourself to a DNA paternity test, should they need one. That should settle it, i think.

Dreamteam -- apologies from me, Hercules---if you need any more discussion on this, you may open a new thread, and PM me. You're more likely to get people respond to you on your own dedicated thread.
